Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

You happen to notice the white creature floating nearby. It seems to be drooling over the ground. Plants are sprouting from where the drool lands.

 

Artemis smiles at the white creature, albeit slightly distrustful from the drooling.

 

"I don't know. We're born with most of our powers, so I'd presume he had them since his creation."

It shows you an image of your pyromancy tomes, and the page you were studying.

"Yes, it's okay. You'll be good for Artemis, right?"
Sgavrinn hums happily.

 

Artemis pets Sgavrinn gently, smiling.

"Thanks, Ihra." Artemis says happily.

 

It continues drooling along the ground aimlessly.
A mysterious gust of wind causes a stream of drool to move along the ground and towards you.
It settles into the ground and a silver flower sprouts up. It looks so pretty... so you should eat it?

"Is there any way to break his control?"

 

He nuzzles Artemis, then glances at Ihra.
"Here, you should get a link so you can talk to each other!"
With a tap of Ihra's staff, Artemis feels an unbreakable telepathic link form.
"Hi! Can you hear me?"

"Killing him is the only thing I can think of. Of course, he's the most heavily defended thing in the Hive."

 

Artemis crouches next to the flower, observing it.

"How pretty..." Artemis comments, gently observing the flower's petals.

OOC: Artemis wonders what sort of strange force is telling her to eat the flower. It sounds like a quite a weird idea if you ask me.

"Sgavrinn?" Artemis asks telepathically.

 

"How are some draconians able to resist his powers?"

The white creature looks at Ihra awkwardly before turning before going back to drooling and creating more plants.

 

Artemis shifts a little closer to her new pet, warily looking at the white creature.

"Why is it drooling at me like that..." Artemis asks nervously.

 

"Yes! It worked!"
Sgavrinn puts Artemis on his back with his tail.
"Do you know anything about dragon riding?"

"Chronos are immune to mind control, but only Chronos. I don't understand it, but I'm happy I'm one."

 

"I know about horse riding..." Artemis responds nervously, holding on to Sgavrinn.

 

"She told me you hate heights."
Sgavrinn starts walking around a bit.
"I don't know what a horse it, but it must be similar. I'll stay low for you."

 

"Thanks. My fear of heights is sort of strange; I'm fine in high trees, it's just flight scares me...maybe it's a disconnection from nature I'm scared of." Artemis responds, petting Sgavrinn.

 

Hythania says, "Oh, that's Hryth, my pet Cloud Dragon. Their drool is magical, which is why it creates plants. The silver flower is a Speech Flower. If you eat it, you can speak to anyone or anything else which has eaten it. Which includes Sgavrinn, but you Ihra formed the telepathic link.

"Maybe Chronos might have other strengths against him?"

 

"Odd. Well, I guess I'll be getting to know you. It's nice that Ihra wanted to give you a gift."

"Just a natural immunity to mind control."

 

"Oh, ok. It's a little weird though, usually when a creature drools, it's salivating for its next meal. I thought I was going to get eaten." Artemis says, laughing nervously.

"She couldn't have gotten me a better one!" Artemis responds, hugging Sgavrinn.

 

He laughs happily, jumping up and down a bit, then takes to the skies, remaining a bit low to the ground.
"Well, let's at least get you used to gliding. It's faster than walking, usually. I like flying low, getting killed by wind always scared me. Maybe you can be a dragon archer person!"

 

"Back in my world, I've worked on a glider of sorts, made of leaves and wood and such. It's helped with my fear of heights," Artemis says calmly, "I've found when Aj empowers me and gives me wings, it's not too scary either. Though I think that's just his influence."

Artemis draws her bow and begins firing arrows at the trunks of trees, landing every shot.

 

"Hmm... does his mind control have any limits like distance?"

"Well, some of his kind do try to use their abilities to trick prey but Hryth mainly uses it for fun."

 

Artemis seems less than calmed by this.

"Please don't eat me." Artemis says under her breath.
