Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, I do know a few spells..." Stephanie says, winking, "Maybe I could just create you a new body. One more willing for a host such as yourself."

Stephanie gives you a seductive look.

Abigail seems to be freaking out.

 

"Can you stop?"
I say to Stephanie.
"It's just too weird for me. And that's coming from a robot."

 

"Is two of the same person getting confusing for you honey?" A familiar voice echoes, "Though, while we may share appearance, we're very different."

Abigail squeals excitedly, putting on her helmet, without letting the visor down; where horns once were on the helmet are cat-like ears. Abigail frantically scribbles in her notebook.

 

"I'd be fine obliging, if only that was the sole requirement. My ability to exist is mostly bottleneck-ed by the magical potential of what I call home. That's the purpose of my gauntlet."
I kneel down and poke the ground, then stand up. Moments later, the ground starts to melt where I touched it.

I turn back to Stephanie.
"So unless you'd be able to create an inherently magical body without creating higher intelligence, I'm all ears. In all my years I've met many that have tried and failed, so I doubt anyone's ability to succeed. No offense."

 

"No, it's not confusing, but that's precisely why it's too weird. The most weird part to me is that I've always imagined Luphyx to be a lot older than he looks, and I'm younger that I look."
I shudder.

 

A dark grey figure appears next to Stephanie. It seems to look human, apart from the fact it's wholly dark grey. It simply stands there, staring into nothingness.

"I think I'm on the right track." Stephanie says, smiling.

"Oh please honey, we both know what we're doing. Maybe you should try looking at things from more than one angle." The voice echoes with a mischievous giggle.

 

I take one step back, and one step to the left.
"Done."
I grin.

 

"Our mutual friend is precisely correct. Although I can't attest to know Thirteen's age, I happen to be capable of changing my appearance at will. Having control over light lets you do that."

I morph into a squirrel, but keep my relative size. You notice the squirrel is still wearing the gauntlet. I then revert back to my normal bearded self.

"The main reason why I wear this form is to give the guise of age and experience. It's also so that no one gets any funny ideas. I've lived longer than I can remember, and that's something even I'm impressed by. Because I have an impeccable memory.

"I also don't see what I would have to gain by going physical. It's not like it's my life ambition or anything."

I snap my fingers, and 13 is momentarily able to see his own body from every conceivable angle. The back of his head, the top of his right foot, and even what his own eye looks like all suddenly are seen, all at once, before disappearing.
"Literally seeing from different angles is my specialty."

It's now my turn to grin.

 

"In case you wanted to know, I've lived for about... 8 years. Or 6. I'm not entirely sure."

"That was so disorienting."
I put my hand to my head.

OOC: I DON'T HAVE EYES GENIUS.

 

"Well... he's dead though, right? So there's nothing to worry about? Maybe?"

 

OOC: I know full well that you don't have eyes. I distinctly remember you describing what your 'eyes' looked like from the outside. I consciously considered not saying eyes... but what else does one call them? cameras? light sensors? It just seemed weird.

 

OOC: Cameras.

 

"Well, okay, I will leave you alone so you can sleep."

 

You have a few hours to study without being disturbed, maybe more if you turn off the fireplace before leaving the room.

Icicle falls asleep fast. Almost drowning certainly took a toll on his seemingly boundless energy.

 

You hear a slight giggle, "Nice one, sweetie."

"Well fine! Have it your way!" Stephanie says as she turns and walks off. She sits down a short distance away, facing away from everyone.

Abigail seems a little saddened, scribbling on her notebook.

"I...I hope so. He's managed to come back from being erased from time though, so maybe death is just something trivial to him. I really hope he's dead...if he were alive...he'd...he'd..." Katie bursts into tears, shaking.

 

I put out the fire, go out of the room, straight to my study.

 

"Decay is irriversible. He's gone."
Ihra hugs her again.

Icicle's snoring.
As long as you don't slam your door, you should be clear to (finally) get back to your studies.

You can't even remember what you were doing before Icicle got you sidetracked.

 

"B-But, he...he was r-removed from time. H-he never even existed! A-and yet he came b-back!" Katie says through tears, hugging Ihra tightly.

 

"It takes a paradox to end a paradox."
Ihra tries a healing spell, though in retrospect, it'd be unneccesary.

 

"He seemed a lot weaker. The fact I was even able to decapitate him easily surprises me," I say, walking over, "Last time he just...wouldn't die. No matter how much I cut him he just kept coming back; it's why I removed him from time."

Katie just sobs and hugs Ihra.
