Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It's okay. Aj's done worse... heh. My gut still hurts from that."

 

"We should probably get moving. It's dangerous to stay down here for too long, you don't know what might be lurking underground." Katie says, slightly worried.

Katie begins to glow brighter, illuminating most of the tunnel with a blue light.

 

Ihra turns to look at her wings. They're drooping.
"Too much longer and you'll have to carry me out. Let's go."
Her face is slightly pale.

 

Katie navigates through the winding tunnels, eventually reaching an iced off section near the surface. Katie melts the ice, and turns to her watery form, diving through the water and re-forming on the surface.

"You certainly look like you've abandoned your physical form." Abigail says, looking at Katie.

"I can give you your form back, if you need it." Stephanie says, smiling.

"It's alright, I can stay like this for a bit." Katie responds.

 

Ihra climbs out behind her.
"Hey, Abigail doesn't look drunk!"
Rineth sighs.
"Well... hello to you too."

 

"Well, I did learn that it would be a rather bad idea." I say this as we are approaching the lab.

 

"Somebody sped up the process and gave me a hangover." Abigail says, glaring at Stephanie and rubbing her head.

"Um, Rienth, are you mad at me?" Katie asks, somewhat nervous.

 

"I'm not one to criticize cultural differences. Not at all, no."

"Could you show me where that place was?"

 

Katie sighs in relief, "Sorry about what I did...I was worried about Abigail's safety." Katie says, smiling at Abigail.

"Thanks, Katie." Abigail says, smiling back.

"How were the tunnels?" I ask Ihra curiously.

 

"Dark. The sunlight feels good."
She lies lazily on the ground, stretched out. Color is slowly returning to her wings.

 

"Can't you stand darkness?" Katie asks, her body freezing.

I chuckle lightly.

 

"Shadow Stephanie can back me up."
"She's a bit of a demiplant. Her wings droop, she goes pale, then slowly dies."

 

"If Ihra's part plant, doesn't that mean I could heal her directly?" Artemis asks, her necklace glowing lightly.

 

"You could try."
"Go ahead. I don't mind."

 

"Well, you'd need to be hurt for me to try. I'm not going to harm you for the sake of an experiment." Artemis says sweetly.

"I could always stab her again..." I say, unsheathing Shadow Katana.

Artemis glares at me, and I sheathe Shadow Katana.

 

Ihra spits at your feet.
"That still hurts..." She groans.

 

"Maybe I could fix that." Artemis says, smiling.

Artemis puts a hand to her head, visualising the stab would; and raises a hand to Ihra, focusing on healing. Artemis' hands glow green, as does Ihra.

 

"That... actually feels better. Thanks."

 

Artemis smiles, "I guess I can help you out of a tight spot, then." Artemis says happily.

"No wonder you're so sensitive to fire..." Abigail says.

"It's certainly an interesting aspect of a seemingly 'Normal' being." Stephanie says, looking at Ihra.

 

"Sorry, Abigail. That's why Rineth gets nervous. One spark and I'm ashes..."
