Grinding Poll

Alright.

Recently, I've seen many posts about Grinding and how you HATE it, and how the devs need to hurry and push those quests out.
Well, I actually enjoy grinding as long as it isn't too excessive.

What I mean by this is that, grinding isn't boring for me for a number of reasons.

1. Drops - I just love the thrill of picking up an item, thinking it's the default common item, only to find that is a Legendary. All those lucky people who've had mythics drop (sadly not including me) can probably share this enjoyment. Identifying is also quite the thrill, as you don't know whether your Memento you just picked up is worth 64 LE or just 5 until you Identify

2. Danger - Yes, I die a lot while grinding. This is because I'm on Archer with full XP or Loot gear, meaning I can only take 4/5 hits. Trying to stay in Frozen Heights for a long time is fun for me because I know that it is difficult (at least for me)

3. Leveling - This is the reason for grinding in the first place. I enjoy the feeling of success after I've hit that level where I can use the next gear upgrade.

So a few questions, why do some of you despise grinding, and how many of you like at least some of it?

I love all of it, like the way I waste hours of my pitiful life on it

lol, sometimes I feel the same way, I am wasting my time, that is probably why I have so many classes.. it is so satisfying to level up every two seconds

 

Like you, I enjoy grinding to an extent. I do agree that you can get good items from killing a specific level of mobs with the risk and thrill, but the leveling isn't good from grinding. The main way we were meant to earn XP was from doing quests, so the Dev team reduced the XP per kill for mobs to reduce the incentive to grind(This didn't end too well, we now grind for hours to gain a level to get from level ~89 to level 100).

 

Grinding is terrible at late levels, yes there is the satisfaction of getting a new level, but that disappears after you realize that you have to go through those hours again, and then a little bit.

 

I dont really hate grinding, i'm just not a big Fan of it.

 

Simple solution if u hate it -->just dont do it u can get to 100 without it

 

I don't hate it... thats the point of this post.

Sure late level grinding is slow, but so many good items to be found!

 

I dont really grind.. I call it "item gathering"

 

I don't hate grinding itself, I hate how much of it you have to do to level up. If mob xp were, say, doubled, I wouldn't mind it nearly as much.

 

I don't grind. I finish all my quests and then just chill with my friends and do dungeons. I grind dungeons

 

Grinding is actually pretty fun for me too, especially when you need to find a new one and you could run to places you've never gone to before. It's much easier to grind while listening to someone's videos or music. This is what I use.

 

To me grinding = torture

 

I get a legendary, I id it, I check it on the item guide, then I find out it sucks and I sell it. Or I buy a legendary for 15 le, Then I get the SAME legendary but its better than the one I just bought. Very rarely do I get super amazing items with good ids.

 

Thats why high id'd items are so valuable, and so satisfying. Every time I indentify a legendary, Im hoping fr maxed stats. If i get Minimum? I whine a bit, but thats alright. Because the next Legendary could have maxed stats.
