Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, actually, most of them don't."

 

I grin. "I called it" I say, before disappating the water orb and descending back into the ground. A vine sprouts and latches onto the tree.

 

"...Oh. What's wrong with this one, then?"

 

"I think it's something to do with underground activity-at least, that's what I heard."

 

"It sure is pretty from a distance, though... has the underground stuff messed up your lab ever?"

 

"Well, my lab is mostly protected by magic." I think for a while.. "But there was once a part of it, when I tried to go very deep down, that sort-off melted."

 

Icicle cringes.
"Melted? Your lab was made of ice?" *hic*

 

"No, it was made of a very strong metal with an extremely high melting point."

 

OOC: Once again, from where does it attach?

 

OOC: The trunk. I think I should start specifying from now on...

 

The water ripples, before clearing. The pool seems to go a lot deeper than first glance would make it seem; almost like a tunnel of sorts.

A figure, cloaked by the darkness at the bottom of the pool, swims past rather quickly; causing the water at the top of the pool to distort slightly.

 

The vine catches on fire.
I try to pull the tree away from the vine, not tactically, but actually trying to pull the vine out with it.
I'm trying to pull the tree over my head.

 

"He's dead. I come on behalf of the Hive."

"Seriously..."

"Oops. Eh heh... well..." She removes Avis from her back and hands her to Xephyr. "Sorry..."

 

"And it still melted? That's scary... Did you get hurt by the melted stuff?"

"I didn't mean to scare you." Ihra whispers to the water before turning to Stephanie and Artemis.
"Is she always that jumpy?" She asks, looking bitterly at the sleeping Abigail.

"The Hive...? How did you even- wait. No, don't answer that. Was he really the one who Xephyr killed, just like that?"

Xephyr taps Avis on the snout.
"Girl, I love you, but don't scare me like that!"
She puts her back on her shoulder.
"Well... We've got Vei. Are we going after the group who oppressed you, now?"

 

"She doesn't especially like the concept of death," Artemis says, "While Guardians live longer than mortals, we're not immortal. I think it's obvious having something half-eat her isn't exactly something you'd associate with living long."

The water splashes, yet nothing seems present at it's surface. Singing can be heard from within the pool; it's rather hypnotising, enticing everyone to dive into the water.

 

"Fair point. Still, she's rather excitable."

Sgavrinn lazily stumbles into the pool.

 

"Much like with Aj and his games, she switches moods rather rapidly. She could be running around like a child with a sugar rush one moment, and begging for her life the next." Artemis says, trying to resist the urge to dive into Katie's pool.

The water drags Sgavrinn down into the depths of the pool. The singing becomes louder and even more enticing.

Stephanie covers her ears, "What's that sea demon planning now!?" She says, annoyed.

 

"She confuses me- wait, sea demon? Katie's a demon?!"

Sgavrinn keept following the singing, clearly entranced.

 

"No, it's just what I call her sometimes!" Stephanie shouts, clearly unable to hear her own voice.

"She does have some pretty singing though..." Artemis says, slightly entranced.

Sgavrinn finds himself in an underwater cave. Katie's singing stops momentarily.

"Hey there little buddy! I wasn't looking for you!" Katie says happily, helping Sgavrinn out of the water.

Katie's singing resumes.

 

Rineth keeps Sgavrinn away from the pool.
Ihra starts wandering towards it.
"It's so... so... ugh-lll..." She mutters, falling into the pool.
