Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis just smiles back.

"Well, there are such things as one-way dolls. Damage you take reflects on the doll, but damage it takes doesn't reflect back to you," Stephanie explains, "But they're incredibly hard to make, requiring a lot of magic."

"This is the only one I've managed to make, and it took a long time and a lot of magic to create." Stephanie says, holding up the voodoo doll of herself.

 

"Does that mean you also can't use it to heal yourself?"

 

"Well, yes and no. You need to imprint the state of the doll onto yourself; technically making it two-way. You need to keep the doll perfect to make sure you don't gain any wounds." Stephanie says.

 

Ihra just stares at Stephanie, confused.

 

"Your confused look is why I didn't tell you in the first place." Stephanie says, laughing slightly.

"I don't think Ihra's really ready to learn voodoo, Stephanie." Artemis says.

 

"Yeah... Sorry I asked."

 

"There's no shame in curiosity." Stephanie says happily, smiling.

 

"But I hate jumpscares. Curiosity hurts."

 

"Jumpscares? What do you mean?" Stephanie asks, curious.

 

Sgavrinn jumps in front of her, and she jumps.
"Darnit, you!"

 

Could it start in a dream? I'm just asking, since thats nice enough

 

Stephanie giggles slightly, "Well, he's not much of a jumpscare, is he?" Stephanie asks, smiling.

"I don't know how you could be scared of something like him!" Artemis adds.

 

Momentarily. Almost lunch.

"Anything jumping in front of you is startling!" She whines.
"What if it was Nyre? Or Nyre's bolts? Or fire?!"

 

"We wouldn't let him hurt you, nor would Rineth." Artemis says happily.

"Nobodies going to stand by and let you come to harm, Ihra," Stephanie says, smiling, "You've no reason to be afraid with your friends around."

 

"Hey, you. What're you doing here? You okay? You just fell here.

Come on, respond.

It's not safe here.
Get up."

"But what if they kill my friends?! Then I... I... Rrrrrrgh!!"

 

"Heh, good luck killing me," I say, walking over to the group, "I'm not going down without a fight."

"We're strong together; it'll take a large army to take us down," Artemis says happily, "We won't let foes near you, Ihra."

"You've fallen under the protection of my friends, and let me say, you're in good hands." Stephanie says, beaming.

"I'd like to see someone escape an icy torture prison alive." Katie says, icy spikes forming around her pool.

 

"Thanks..."
Sgavrinn seems content with laying near Artemis.
"I'll do what I can to... uh... not make you angry."

 

Artemis sits down next to Sgavrinn, petting him.

"Don't make me angry, you won't like me when I'm angry." I say jokingly.

"I'm doubtful you could make any of us angry enough to retaliate violently." Stephanie says.

"We'd only get angry if you were to come to harm; and even then, our anger would be directed toward your attacker." Artemis says happily, petting Sgavrinn.

"We're pretty chill." Katie says, smiling; her pool freezing slightly.

 

"I hope. Thanks..."

 

"Oh hey, what are you guys and gals talking about?" Abigail says as she hovers over.

"We were just saying how we have Ihra's back; you do too, right?" Stephanie asks.

"Of course! Katie and I have got you covered on protection from fire, Ihra." Abigail says, smiling.

"Somethings not right..." I say, looking around.

"What's wrong, Aj?" Artemis asks, concerned.

"We're all happy and friendly. Everything seems to be going great; something is going to ruin this, it's bound to happen." I say sceptically.

"Can't you just enjoy it instead of worrying? Surely if everyone's happy, that's a good thing!" Katie says happily, resting on her pool's edge.

I keep an eye on the surroundings.
