How Lost Can A Major Publication Be Or 1.rv

Today, April 8th, the International Business Times, published in Australia, released the following article:

‘Minecraft’ new snapshot, Trendy Update, free skins and Story Mode sale all ongoing. Now, I'm a nice guy, so I did send them a correction message, explaining to them that it was an April Fool's joke. So my question really is; If you are writing about something or someone, shouldn't you check your facts before you publish? You did say "yes", didn't you?

 

That's a noob mistake for a news journalist to do. They should find more facts before publishing it. That's like journalist rule 101.
