Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Where did you even get that?"
I say, gesturing to the skateboard.

 

"From a gnarly planet bro!" I say, skating past.

"I think he means 'Earth'." Stephanie says.

I proceed to do some awesome skateboard tricks.

 

"Stephanie, are you a guardian like Artemis?"
Ihra still has her eye on Katie's trident.

 

Katie spins her trident proudly.

"Haha, no. I'm just a very powerful witch, well versed in the many schools of magic." Stephanie says.

"And by witch, I mean female user of magic; as wizards are male. I'm not some evil hag who has a black cat." Stephanie adds hastily, taking off her witch hat and putting her hood back up.

 

"Huh. I heard that over there they don't even use magic. Like this!"
I decide to show off my rocket feet to AJ, and try hovering a bit.
I end up flipping over and landing on my face.
"Uhg. I still need to get used to using those."
I say as I get up off the ground.

 

"Who told you that whacked out biz? We use magic on Earth!" I say, ollieing over you.

Abigail hovers with her magma boots like it's nothing, gliding around and doing tricks.

 

Ihra nods at Stephanie in understanding.
"People called me a witch before. They tried to stab me with pokey things. And fire. I hated the ones with fire."

She pauses, shuddering at the thought of fire.
"Katie, have you ever met Xephyr?"

An odd but gentle breeze passes.

 

"There was once a time where I came from where witches were burned at a stake. We're past that now, however." Stephanie says calmly.

"Who's Xephyr?" Katie asks, tilting her head curiously.

 

"I hate fire."

"She's... really sad all the time. Uh... She is a Cryo draconian. I think she'd like you. Probably try to do something for you, even if you didn't do anything for her. Last I heard, she went off with Vesius."

 

"She sounds lovely, I'd love to meet her." Katie says happily, the ground around her freezing slightly.

"Is the reason she's sad is because she feels as if she failed Xlentia?" Artemis asks.

Stephanie seems rather curious.

 

"Just let me get used to these and maybe someday we'll have a race."
I say to Abigail.
I run up to the nearest tree, jump and do a wall kick off it, then start hovering.
I manage to stay up a little longer this time, and land, without face-planting.

 

"Nice one!" Abigail says. I skate past her, throwing her a pair of red shades and a firey-looking skateboard, "But can you skate bro?"

Abigail puts on the red shades and boosts herself with her magma boots, going rather fast on her skateboard. She skates halfway up the tree you kicked off of, then flips off of it, landing the jump and speeding forward.

 

"I don't really think they invented me with the knowledge to use a skateboard. Properly, I mean."

 

"Yes," Rineth responds. "Everyone knows nothing she would have done would've made a difference, but she hates herself for hiding and not trying. When Eras let her serve him, it was the happiest I've seen her in quite a while."

 

I walk back over to the group from where I was speaking with Idala.
"You can learn, can't you? I can even heighten your response rate, if you'd like. A sort of mental training wheels."

 

"Probably."
I respond.
"Although, I don't see a reason why."

 

"...So you could have fun riding skateboardz?" I say glancing at Abigail. "Or is fun not a thing you can have?"

 

"Oh, please. I can have fun."
I say, activating my rocket feet and hovering.

 

"And the same to you."

"I'm not going to hide for the rest of my life. If that's your only plan, I think I'd rather go work against that group. At least from the shadows."

"Same. I have a score to settle." A quick but noticeable glance at Khione. "With more than a few people."

"I think I'll go, too. I don't want to condone anyone else to my fate."

 

I start wandering towards the crevasse again.
"Hey, Reflet? I'm going back to that crevasse. I could use a break. Maybe after we could see if Feiha made any progress on the vault?"

"It's not, and though I want to help, I want to save my former Mistress. I believe there's a way, but my opposition is stronger than Lariuth. Think other demigods with variations of my strength. I may stick with you, but I fear for Avis' safety."
She pauses, then looks deep in thought.
"Actually... Ihra may be your best bet for help. I mean, if you can keep her awake, she can summon things she's seen die. Her staff is known as the Infinity Pylon... She can pretty much bring back hordes of her imagination to keep them busy."

Lariuth's dragon finds itself suddenly pinned to the ground by its neck. The impact hurt, but another dragon's teeth are partially sunk into his neck.
"You. You're who I'm looking for."
