Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"They should be coming a long soon. You can see them ahead." The mountains look incredibly close.

Avis is still there. She temporarily growls before she realizes it's just Xephyr. Back at the snowy place...

"We don't- didn't serve him directly." Khione mutters, kicking up small amounts of snow nervously.

"You see, Lariuth was part of this group that's supposedly descended from a legendary hero." Zethes continues, somewhat happily.

"And they've been trying to gain influence in this kingdom. Aurorius."
Kalais finishes.

"I don't really know where I originally came from. My family has always been in the group, doing the bidding of those 'gifted' people who were the descendants of the 'hero'." Zethes frowns, saying gifted and hero in a mocking tone.

"The group pillaged my village." Kalais giggles at his rhyme, earning a scowl from Zethes. Kalais clears his throat and continues more seriously. "They killed everyone who wasn't over five years old, and took those who weren't. They bent us to their will, and here I am."

"Come to think of it, Khione never has told us how she joined."

"Oh. How did I- ehm. Well it's sort of a long story."

 

"Tirai, now."
A bolt of light energy flies straight into its mouth.

"Alright... Now, is drelsh found in trace amounts at a time or do you find it in deposits?"

"I've lived over a hundred thousand years, yet my old bones never tire of hearing stories. Though, Vesius said he encountered someone similar... Someone trying to obtain a weapon that sunk cities in lava. Maybe their causes are the same... At any rate, I reckon we should head back. If we're near your opressors, though I know you don't trust me, it's me or their search parties. You can tell me after you teleport."
Xephyr teleports back, dispels the magic field (thus freeing the dragon) and picks up Avis, petting her.
"It's okay, sweetie, I told you I'd return."

 

"It's found as a large crystal, so you could call it a deposit."

Avis nuzzles Xephyr, eyeing the trio suspiciously.

"Okay... I guess first of all..."
Khione flickers between a snowy dragon, a large white wolf, a white hawk, and a white bear. "I hid that from everyone for so long..."

"You-" Zethes starts

"-WHAT!" Kalais cuts right through Zethes' words.

"And now for the story." Khione says, ignoring the two. "Like most undoubtedly with that dragon, the group came after me. I was already alone at that time, and all I could do was run. I ran to a village- Kalais' village, and took up the form of a girl there. The group stopped to pillage the vill- I mean raid the village." Khione glares at Kalais, who seems torn between laughing and committing murder.

"So it's your fault my villager got raided and my family and most of my friends were killed." Kalais tightens his grip on his axe.

"I'm sorry, okay? I didn't have a choice. Anyway, I kept running, and they kept chasing, only I at least had a head start. But you can't outrun a dragon. They eventually chased me into a village. Luckily for me, they didn't know I was disguised as this particular girl. Again, they ransacked the village, but they were a lot more merciful then before. They kept everyone who didn't fight back- which I didn't. I haven't shifted forms since then, in the hopes that no one would ever find out that I was exactly what they were looking for."

OCC: Yeah. Avis was just supposed to be a little introductory to the concept of the shapeshifting dragons before Khione came in, but this works too I guess.

 

"So, it's pretty much a big crystal you just break from when you need pieces of it? That ought to be easy."

Xephyr looks at her in shock.
"Do you by chance know Avis?"

 

The Leoseal (that's what I'm going to call them) is calmed. However, it turns more playful than before and starts looking at Artemis as if it were a puppy.

The bubble is burst from within. The dragon immediately closes its wings around Abigail. It starts firing bubbles at her.

"More? Hmm... how many cards will I have to play..."
The dragon flies above the water. It then fires a jet of flames into the middle of the battle.

A distorted screech is heard across the battlefield. A scaly, purple bird flies in the direction of the portal.

The Shadecorn leaps into the air and towards Artemis, horn pointed down to strike.
However, as it leaps, a gust of wind knocks it to the side.
Aura the wind dragon appears, with Idala on its back. She is wearing the black armour and has the black daggers extended.
"Don't try to use monsters against those who protect me!"
"Trying to fight me with a monster which has been magically created? Impressive, but you won't last long."

The wyvern blasts the light energy backwards. However, some of the light energy reaches it, with slightly lessened force. It doesn't seem to be heavily affected by the light, however.

 

"Sure. Just don't get eaten and you'll be good."

"Avis?" Khione thinks for a few seconds. "I'm sorry... It's... been a while. She might've come up somewhere..." A few more seconds of thinking. "Avis... Avis... Avis..." She mutters under her breath, raking her brain. "No. I don't remember anything. I can see the similarities, though. It's possible she could be related to me, born after the attack, but my parents were, to my knowledge, killed. I don't get it."

 

The howling of wolves can be heard, and a pack of 5 wolves jump out from the trees and circle Artemis, protecting her.

Abigail slices through the wings of the dragon with her sharp claws, before jamming them into the dragons eyes.

A girl with long, sea blue hair, pale skin and deep blue eyes leaps from the portal. She seems to be wearing scaled, blue armour of sorts that extends down to her knees, and a large blast of water follows her. She catches the blue helmet in the air and puts it on.

The blast of water hits the purple bird, before it turns toward the flaming dragon, the girl jams her trident into the dragons back as water surrounds them both.

 

On sight of the water, the Leoseal starts splashing in the water.

The dragon screeches as its eyes are destroyed. However, it encases Abigail inside a bubble which seems to be made out of a very sticky liquid. It seems that it can't be pierced. The bubble floats into the air. If the water goes over it, the bubble starts to sink.

The bird screeches as it is trapped in the water. It tries to swim to the top.

The dragon continues to breathe the jet of flame. The place where the flame is directed explodes, knocking the water and everyone and everything nearby backwards.

The Shadecorn freezes the water around it, allowing it to have a makeshift iceberg. Aura lands on the water and creates a similar iceberg. Both icebergs start to connect to each other with an ice sheet. The Shadecorn charges forwards while Aura leaps towards it.

 

I say to the child, "Howdy! I'm...Uh...I'll just keep the name secret."

As this is going on, I tell Arnold, "Impressive. Especially this Shadecorn."

(For Artemis)
You see a vine erupt from the ground, poised to attack, but then it waves at you. "Howdy!" You hear a flower echo.

 

OOC: Wait, the whole area just flooded, and a flower manages to not drown/not speak because of the water? Kden

"I could have brought in a group of Dread Dragons, but I what's the fun in that?"
"There isn't fun in death!"
Idala leaps off the Wind Dragon and knocks the Arnold off the Shadecorn. The two monsters then circle around each other, occasionally throwing wind and lightning bolts at each other. When wind does hit the Shadecorn, it is completely knocked over. When lightning hits Aura, it electrocutes it.
Idala half glides, half charges through the air towards Arnold. It isn't long before their blades are clashing against each other... at supersonic speeds. Neither are winning but the speed of the battle is almost impossible to see.

 

"Impressive fighting." I say.

OOC: Magick. Nah jk. Helianthus is back on the cliff by now.

 

OOC: Forgot the cliff. Oh well. Also, this Leoseal... Leo 2.0 or Ihra's new pet seal? Probably the second just because I want that to happen XD.

"Wha- oh, a stone figure. Who's inside?"
"Your friend Count Drake."
The Wind Dragon tries to bite the Shadecorn. It succeeds, but gets a mouthful of lightning too. The Shadecorn's aura fades.
'Arnold' tries to smash the mace end of his weapon into Idala. He doesn't succeed and Idala advances forward slightly for a few seconds, before the fight resumes to fast spinning weapon standstill.

 

"Howdy!" I say to Idala.

 

She immediately tries to swipe at your cage with a dagger.
Arnold immediately angles himself so she can't reach the cage.

 

Riihs charges at it, halberd arcing with electricity.

OOC: Well, that's a line that'd attract Nyre if I ever saw one...

"If something eats me, I'm pretty sure it'd disintegrate the moment I scream at its insides."
I dive underground.

"I heard the same thing about Avis... Would you mind reverting to a dragon real quick? I can make sure the others don't attack..."
She casts a glance with darkened eyes at the one whose village was attacked, scratching Avis' back.
(OOC: Just woke up, will correct name later, don't judge)

 

OOC: Just realised that XD. If Nyre appears now, then that would be good. Unless he kills the Leoseal, in which case I will find him, I will hunt him to the corners of the [insert planet name here], and I will make him pay by making him take in every last memory the Void Hall has. If he survives to halfway, that is.

The wyvern charges at Riihs head on.

 

The blue-clad figure raises her hands, and jets of water begin to erupt from the ground. The entire battlefield begins to fill with (more) water; thick icy walls encase the battlefield, making the entire area like a small ocean.

The figure swims over to Abigail, trapped inside the bubble. The figure's legs seem to have been replaced with a blue, fish-like tail.

"Yo, uh, I don't think getting me out is such a good idea; considering everything is underwater." Abigail says nervously.

"I've got you covered." The figure says through the water, a bubble surrounding the one Abigail is trapped inside. The stickier bubble seems to melt away, leaving Abigail in the larger one.

Artemis and her wolves float on a large group of huge lily-pads, Artemis looking down into the water over her drowned forest.

I simply float around in the water, occassionally swimming down. I don't seem to be taking the battle as serious as I should be.

 

I tread water, keeping my head above the water level.
"Hey Abigail!"
I shout in her direction.
"Still got that rag I gave you? I need it right about now!"

 

The blue-clad figure swims up to you, rather quickly. A bubble forms around you, and the water is taken from your body. The bubble seems to float half out of the water.

"You'll be safe in there." The figure says, smiling.

 

"If you say so."
I smile back.
"I hope..."
I'm clearly nervous.
