Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The flower appears to be pleased that its not being noticed. "Perfect. Back to reincarnating." Darkness emnates from the flower, corrupting the ground near it with a dark stain. "In this weak form I still have limited power, so just in case you realize that your "villain" in your "heroic story" is just sitting near you and reincarnating, I'll tell you that you should probably try to kill me. Nyeeeehhhh"

 

"I wonder if he dropped any sweet loot." I say walking towards you.

I seem to phase right through you.

"Don't leave me out on the loot!" Abigail says, running over. She too phases right through you.

"You two play that game too much." Artemis says, laughing and following. Artemis, as to be expected, phases through you too, as she follows us.

I begin searching the remains of the battleground for anything valuable, as does Abigail.

Abigail suddenly withdraws her hand hastily, "Ow, found that dumb Ice Sword of his." She says.

I walk over to the ice sword, before picking it up and observing it.

"Hmm, seems pretty worthless." I say, a dark aura surrounding the sword. I snap it in two like it was a toothpick.

 

The flower smiles. "Good, now destroy my other Horcrux. Look for the jewel-plated hat. Its somewhere in the rubble. Maybe keep my spear as a trophy." Spikes grow from the ground, albeit very small. Some dark lightning strikes one of them.

OOC: This is already a reincarnation, but his next "reincarnation" is just going to be the same. This one's name can be found in the report on the reserved post.

 

We don't seem to hear you at all.

"Man, all of this stuff is terrible. Lets just destroy it all, worthless crud from a worthless being." Abigail says, throwing the spear away.

"Alright, stand back." I say, leaving the pile of junk and rubble.

Abigail and Artemis hop off the rubble. A dark aura begins to form around me before a large, dark beam erupts from the ground, completely covering the rubble. Once the beam dissipates, all that's left is a small, wooden box.

Abigail picks up the box and burns it, destroying everything that was in the rubble, as well as the rubble itself.

"If that was a boss fight in a game, it would've definitely lost points for me; at least 2. No rewards and an easy battle." Abigail says.

"Probably would be just a mini boss." I say.

"Except life isn't a game and we could've died." Artemis says flatly.

"Oh please, that guy was worthless and easy to kill." I scoff.

"Mini Boss. Not even a challenging one." Abigail says, slightly disappointed.

 

"You missed the hat..." I say, disappointed.

 

Artemis begins to grow a few trees in the barren remains of what once was rubble and junk. The trees grow to be rather large, some even bearing fruit.

"You should make forests more often; they're rather pleasant." I say, observing the newly created trees.

"They also give me the upper hand in battle; considering I can just move between them and avoid attacks." Artemis says, lying down against a tree. She stares in your direction, yet doesn't notice you at all.

Abigail climbs up one of the trees using her claws, cutting down an apple and biting into it; hanging from a branch by her legs.

"I could've just shot you down an apple if you wanted one, Abigail." Artemis says, looking up at Abigail.

"Yeah but thash no fun." Abigail says between bites.

 

The presence says, Impressive that you survived that. A fellow necromancer, I see. Maybe you could help me with a, ah, small problem I have. Or several, if you want to.

 

"More than willing. Of course, practicing necromancy takes a terrifying toll on me. I've already lost honor and allies. Well, I've lost my source of power for now, the soul Crystal which I stored Leo in. It was a brilliant idea to store a soul to use for my necromancy."

 

Well first, how would you like to be my 'soul' companion?

OOC: I had to make that pun.

You hear a yawning sound from nearby.
Idala sits up and starts stretching.

 

I also decide to ignore talking to the three for now and instead sprout a small flower (OOC: similar to the echo flower but way smaller) near them. I mutter to myself, "Better study hard."

OOC: I'm starting to guess that it looks like I'm just a normal flower, since it's possible that I'm in some kind of separate realm or that there's a barrier preventing me from interacting with them directly.

"Interesting. I like that idea, and I'd be happy to be your 'soul companion' First though, I have to ask. There's this war going on with the Draconians. Are you sided with any of them?"

OOC: At first I thought there was some deeper meaning, but I just realized I'm being offered a chance to be a partner :P

 

"How are you feeling?" I ask Idala, walking over to her.

None of us seem to notice the flower.

OOC: You got voided by Artemis as Death; so you actually don't exist to the group. If you were to enter their home realm, you'd cease to exist, because you're no longer existent in their eyes.

This means that you can't actually interact with them, nor can they interact with you.

 

I stay silent, listening in to their conversations.

OOC: In al, honesty, that's actually better than I hope, since that means he's essentially a ghost gathering information secretly. I legit thought I screwed up when I decided to engage AJ, but eh I guess it sort of fell into place by itself.

 

OOC: Soul companion. Sole companion. See what I did there? No? ... Also, the double post strikes again!

I haven't seen the draconians for many millennia... urgh, never mind that. Just believe that I'm not sided with any of them and that I haven't heard of them and this will make things easier.

You feel a shift in your surroundings.
Suddenly, you feel like you are made of a very hard material, which is surprisingly comforting.
"Haven't done this since... well, also millennia. Maybe a bit longer in this case. It's hard to tell."

"I... uhh... feel fine. What... what did you do? Why did you help me?"

 

"Ah, I'm slightly disappointed, but honestly? After spending barely a day with them, I can say that they're some of the most unusual people I've met. That includes their friends. That Thirtreen character looks surprisingly naive."

 

I don't remember my interactions with the draconians. At least, the ones when I was with them and helping them. Those memories are still fuzzy... all I have so far are my memories of being told about them by... sources.

 

Abigail hangs from the tree branch, eating her apple, "So what do you think this Xlentia is like?" She asks us.

"Probably a make or break sort of deal; I know only one of us is going to live if we fight her." I say.

"I was more thinking along the lines of saving her," Artemis says, turning to me, "She just got corrupted by a strange force, right? Surely we can save her right?"

"That'd cheer up Xephyr." Abigail says, dropping the apples seeds from the tree.


OOC: You sort of did screw up, in all honesty. It's just the fact that character death is more of a self-initiated thing that Death or Aj didn't manage to fully kill you; simply void you from their existence.

"I've sealed that reflection of yours away; where it can't hurt you anymore," I say, "Oh! That reminds me, I still need to kill it."

I summon the rather large crystal the reflection is stored inside, "I helped you because I can't stand to see someone fall to such an evil force. That thing was no good for you." I say, drawing Shadow Katana.

"And it won't harm you ever again." I say, ramming Shadow Katana into the crystal. Darkness surrounds the crystal, dark cracks appearing over it, before it suddenly implodes.

I sheathe Shadow Katana, "Well, at least you don't have to deal with getting possessed now." I say, smiling.

 

"Thanks... I don't know what to say..."
As the crystal is smashed, something doesn't feel right... did you actually destroy all of it? No, must be your imagination...

 

"I see. It seems they have immense power...yet at the same time they feel surprisingly naive. Especially Ihra. Riihs appears to be normal enough, though sometimes I get the feeling he'd spen a whole year just being silent if he could."

I listen intently.

OOC: Well, I've sort of changed what was going on in the dome. Basically, Count Drake figured he couldn't win, so he'd just get as much information out of the trip as possible by initiating a "boss battle". Yes, his powers are a pushover since he's just being creative with a handful of common spells, but he could've actually stayed in the battlefield and fought to the death instead of teleporting away in an attempt to transfer his soul. I could go on explaining the battle and Count Drake's ideals behind it, but I think that should go in the report.

 

"I remember that much. I had fun making her faint this time."

 

My eyes begin to glow, as I check for any parts of the reflection that might have remained.

"Your thanks is all I need," I say, "A random act of kindness a day, as they say."

I walk back to where Artemis and Abigail are, and lie on a tree.

"You know what I fancy? Bacon." Abigail says.

"Ooh, Bacon sounds pretty good right about now." I say.

"I guess we have everything we need to cook it." Artemis says, looking up at Abigail.

A large flower forms below Abigail, which she falls onto. I summon a frying pan and some bacon in my hands, and Artemis grows another, albeit smaller, tree; which she unearths from the ground.

None of the stuff we're saying seems to be of much use; other than informing you of our liking of bacon.
