Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm not sure. Then again, from what I heard from a Duke I know, the writer of the book was insane. Of course, that could just be some propaganda, since the author apparently shouted insults and slurs at the Duke." I look at Artemis, curious.

"Work of fiction coming to life? Sounds terrifying." echoes the crystal.

 

"Maybe if you write a fan-fiction about an adventurous girl and her magic cat, it'll come to life, Aj." Abigail says to me, smiling.

"Yes, but then I'd need to have ice powers, a magical crown and also be insane." I say, giving Abigail a flat look.

Artemis stares back at you, with a corrupt look in her eyes.

 

"I can provide you with a spellbook." I say to the shadow thing.

"Count Drake, do you know what's going on with the one who destroyed the gift?" echoes the crystal. I look at the girl curiously, attempting to figure out what is going on.

 

"Must really suck if you don't have awesome cartoons here." I say.

Artemis twitches, tilting her head to the side; continuing to stare with a corrupt look.

 

"What are cartoons? Are those a kind of animal?" asks Count Drake curiously. I look at the girl, and then say, "Yes? Is there anything you'd like?"

 

"Aj, you grabbed my armour right?" Abigail asks me.

I summon Abigail's helmet in my hands, before summoning a dark coloured one.

Abigail and I put on our helmets. An animation of sorts plays on our visors; we don't seem to be listening anymore.

Artemis simply gives you a corrupt look, her twitching becoming a little more frequent. She doesn't seem to be herself.

 

"Leo, do you know what she's doing?" I ask the crystal.
"N-no, I've never seen anything like that before." The crystal echoes.

 

Gaia's Scythe appears in Artemis' hand. She continues to glare with a corrupt look, tilting her head.

"Hahaha, I'm distracted." I say, sitting next to Abigail, watching cartoons on my visor.

 

"Is she...insane?" the crystal echoes.
"I'd normally doubt it, but seeing from what she's doing...that might be a possibility. She has some kind of weapon...is she...threatening me?"

 

Carnivorous plants begin to sprout around Artemis and Count Drake. They snap at Count Drake.

Artemis is certainly not herself anymore.

Abigail and I don't seem to notice anything that's happening.

 

"AGH! FIEND!" I jump out of the way. I quickly say to the crystal, "I thoroughly regret leaving my weapons at the blacksmith. Looks like I'll have to be smart here" I look around for any viable weapon to use.

 

Vines grab one of your arms, a carnivorous plant sprouting from it and biting your arm with sharp teeth.

"Hey, what the heck is going on here!?" I say, getting up.

"Shh, here comes the best bit! It'll make sense!" Abigail says.

I sit back down again.

 

"Agh! Ridiculous! Coming here was a bad idea!" I quickly shout out.
"Count Drake, quick! The knife!" echoes the crystal.
I nod, and then look around for Sir Robert's body.
"Agh, the body was cremated along with the knife stuck to it!" I shake my head. "I'll have to find something else." I pull the vines off, and roll out of the way.
"Try throwing rocks" advises the crystal.
"Of course not, that's uncivilized for a person of my status!"

 

A pair of vine hands grabs you from behind and pulls you to the ground, vines tying around your hands and feet. The carnivorous plants bite your entire body, acidic saliva burning from their mouths.

I begin clapping excitedly, "This is amazing!" I say; though I seem to be focused on the visor.

 

"You know what, Leo? I think desperate times call for desperate measures." I grab a sharp stones from the ground stab the plants with them. Then, I roll some more, hoping to trample some of the plants. I grab another rock, and then throw it at the shadow creature. "You there! The one who possesed me! What's going on with this girl?!" I shout at it.

 

The rock clinks off of my helmet. I don't seem to notice; I just continue laughing at the cartoons I'm watching.

A sharp piece of bamboo pierces straight through your right hand, keeping it stuck.

Artemis begins to slowly walk towards you, a corrupt smile on her face. Gaia's Scythe seems rather daunting to look at.

"Yo, Leo!" I faint voice says from Abigail's helmet, "Where's my money Leo?" Abigail and I laugh.

 

"Ugh, this is worthless." I say, holding in the pain from my right hand. I grab more rocks with my free hand and throw them at the Fire Guardian and the shadow thing. Then, I stop. "Of course! How could I have forgotten!" A smile creeps up across my face. "Look, Miss...uh...nevermind that. Can you please stop trying to kill me? I'm cornered, with no means to fight back other than throwing rocks."
"That won't work Count Drake..." The crystal echoes.
"No, I have a backup plan. If this crazy woman refuses, I'll use some..." I stare directly at the woman's face, still slightly smiling. "necromancy"
"Ok, and how is that going to work?"
"Just shush, you'll see." I continue throwing rocks at the Fire Guardian and the shadow thing.

 

Abigail eventually waves her hand; the other rocks burn up in the air.

"Rararararar," the voice echoes from the helmet, "Where's my money Leo!?...Oh crap the fire's back...I want my 20 bucks Leo!...Oh no, Leo's on fire."

Abigail and I continue to laugh.

Artemis stands over you, her corrupt smile widening. She stabs your left arm with Gaia's Scythe, not to cut, but to cause pain.

 

"Ugh, this is getting ridiculous. My medics will take a lot of time to heal this."
"Count Drake, you do realize you may not even get out of this alive, right?"
"Yes, indeed I know. That's why I shall try one last thing before committing suicide." I look at the woman, straight in her eyes.
"Count Drake, what are you-"
"Shhh, I need to focus."
I continue staring at the woman. I mutter something indescribable.

 

Thick vines cover your mouth, then your eyes. You suddenly feel a searing pain in your right leg.

"I would kill any one of you for a cheddar biscuit." You hear a voice say from a short distance away; Abigail and I keep laughing.
