Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Alright. I need him seated on this mat. Across me." I take a seat on one side.

 

"I'll go fetch him... Does method of execution matter?"

 

"Umm... I'll just come out and say it. Reflet did it. She didn't uhm... specifically do it to me, but to my ancestors, anyway." He shifts nervously.

 

"No, but I need him alive." I pull out the spell book from my bag and place it beside me.

 

"Wh... I..."
I pause, looking at the sky bitterly.
"You said you needed a dragon's soul to go deeper into the forest?"

"Then... I'll fetch a live one."

After a few more minutes, he returns with a chained prisoner.

"Will this do?"

 

"Yes."

 

"I have a lot of mistakes to make up for. This may be stupid on my part, but wait here a minute."
I start flying as fast as I can, making a beeline to the center of the forest.
I'm testing if I feel whatever's keeping the rider out.

 

You don't feel anything extreme, though the gravity seems a lot stronger here, weighing you down ever so slightly.

 

"Hey, Reflet, you there?" I try to reach out telepathically.
I land, then look at my surroundings on the ground.

 

"I am. So I take it you killed the rider?"

A char black volcano looms very close, only visible because the trees have thinned significantly.

 

"No. He told me that you had problems with his ancestor... but he stopped hunting the dragon I was sent for. What's he even talking about with his ancestor's weapon?"

 

"I...

"I made his ancestor a weapon, and he used it to fell an entire city and more. His ancestor hid from my sight, but I was still able to at the very least reclaim the weapon. ...I went a little dormant after that..."

 

"Miznyana all over again."
I start flying back to the rider.

 

"I wouldn't be surprised if this happened before... whatever Mis- Mizr- Mizryawna was involved in."

You return to the rider. "So..."

 

"Yeah. I'm morally split now. If I give you the weapon, you destroy everything. If I kill you, I'm probably goiong to feel a lot of guilt for offering to help. I heard about your ancestor... I didn't think you were talking about that one... Your drive and ambition alone are enough for you to get out of hand."
I take a step backwards.
"I can't let you have that."

 

OOC: It could've been much worse, it could have been...school.

OOC: Only Ihra and Abigail saw the memory.

Abigail turns around, tears in her eyes, and hugs Ihra tightly.

"I-I didn't even t-tell my m-mother and f-father what had h-happened at the t-time," She says through tears, "I-It's one if my d-deepest s-secrets."

 

"Rrrr... Fine, pray we don't meet again."

He's gone.

 

I immediately search for the other dragon.
"Reflet, problem. Rider wants deadly weapon now, I turned him down, and I'd bet there's a problem bigger than Feiha's ego in him."

"It'll be okay... We've all been through a lot."
She glances at Vei.
"...I hope."

 

"Yes, thank you. Now I'll need some privacy." I make the prisoner sit opposite to me. "Now, I want you to tell me why you are in prison."

 

"And he isn't even the only descendant of that traitor, Uthrail, I'd bet. But I suppose there isn't much that can be done. They're well shielded from me."

You find the dragon crouching behind a tree, having been watching the proceedings.
