Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What happened? I sensed AJ's darkness but that was it."

 

She locks onto Abigail.
"You. You're hiding something. Why?"

"There's... Ihra has Vei's tomes. I know she wrote that in her will... No way they betrayed her..."

 

Abigail just gives a laid back smile.

"The only thing I'm hiding are the locations of Easter Eggs in various games I've played." She says calmly, though she doesn't seem to be wholly telling the truth.

"Except you've told me where some of them are." I say.

"I've given you hints, and you've mostly found them without my help." Abigail replies.

 

Ihra shivers, then points her staff at Abigail.
"Tell me... tell me or I'll drown you!"
The words come out shaky.

 

"Tell you what?" Abigail asks, confused.

Darnth gives Ihra and Abigail suspicious looks, but doesn't do anything.

"Drown me all you want, I don't know what you're looking for." Abigail says; her voice wavers a little.

 

"Little? Hah, my friend here weighs over five tons, little wyrm."

The speaker is just a man of about 20 years old, with long, shaggy, red hair.

"He looks so much like... Ehm, forgot his name. I said nothing." I mutter.

The rider draws an ornate silver hammer glowing with orange runes. "Die well, then." He jumps off his red dragon, who circles around the mist, probably searching for the other dragon.

The rider then slams his hammer into the ground, and the ground fissures. The cracks spread in all directions quickly, and lava shoots up from the fissures in massive geysers.

 

"You clearly do. Stop lying."
She's even more shaky.

"Well, I suppose you'll just have to lug him home."
Aether Aspect into cutting his mount with a boomerang throw. Have fun flying without wings.

I fly through a lava geyser to show him that his attempts have nothing compared to The Forge.
"Maybe if I cut your pretty little wyrm up enough, you won't need my help bringing him back."
Catch the rapier, glare at my opponent.
"Now, tell me your name so I know what to put on your tombstone."

 

"I don't! I don't have any secrets, so just back off!" Abigail says, her hair igniting (as she says 'back off').

"Drown me, see if I care!" Abigail says, beginning to tear up, "You won't, because you're weak!"

 

"I... I..."
Ihra drops to the ground.
"You're right... I can't... ugh... Can't even hold my own..."

 

Darnth holds a white, glowing crystal in front of Ihra in his palm. Abigail looks rather sour, glaring at the crystal.

"If you really want to know Abigail's secret, take it. She doesn't like to talk about it." Darnth says.

Abigail crosses her arms and turns away.

 

She takes it, looking at it curiously.

 

The crystals glow increases, before suddenly letting out a blinding flash.

Ihra is no longer where she once was; instead, seemingly inside the top of a volcano of sorts.

A young girl, only about nine or ten, lies on the ground in front of Ihra. She seems awfully remnicent of Abigail, albiet much younger. She's badly bruised and cut, and has a black eye.

Three, muscular older boys look over her, wry smiles on their faces. They appear to be Flame Guardians like Abigail.

"What's she gonna do now? Go crying home to her mother? What a pathetic weakling." One of the boys says.

"What's say we give her the actual water works then?" Another boy says.

The first boy shouts at the young Abigail, "Get up you worm, to that wall." He shouts, gesturing to a wall with chains on.

As Abigail struggles to get up and move to the wall, one of the boys kicks her hard. She's knocked back and thrown against the wall. The boys laugh, and Abigail groans in pain.

One of the boys storms over and grabs Abigail by the neck, squeezing tightly. Abigail chokes, struggling to try and loosen his grip, to no avail. Tears can be seen streaming down her face.

The boy locks Abigail into the chains, fixing her to the wall. One of the other boys picks up a bucket of water and walks over to Abigail.

The boy begins to pour water over Abigail, who screams in pain; her hair turning grey. "You like that don't you? You're not a Flame Guardian, you're weak. You're nothing, and you'll never be anything." The boy says.

"P-Please st-stop, I b-beg you." Abigail manages to say through the pain.

"Let's give her the fishbowl treatment." One of the boys says, holding up a thick glass helmet of sorts.

The boy affixes the glass helmet to Abigail's head; it fits tightly. Abigail tries to struggle, yet the chains keep her still.

"P-Please, no!" Abigail says, sobbing. She futilely struggles with the chains.

The other boy begins to fill Abigail's helmet with water through a hole in the top, only stopping when it's half full. Abigail struggles to breathe, barely able to get her mouth above the water to gasp for air. Loud hissing can be heard from within the helmet.

The boys laugh, "You won't ever be anything. Give up and die." One of them says before they walk off, leaving Abigail struggling.

"HELP! HE-LP!" Abigail shouts through tears, struggling to breathe in the half-filled helmet.

The day passes in the blink of an eye, the sun beginning to set; making the sky above the volcano orange.

Abigail remains chained to the wall, some of the water gone. "He-lp...help someone..." She says weakly. Abigail's hands and legs seem to be red and a little bloody where the chains are affixed to them.

"I think the voice came from up here!" A familair voice echoes. Two figures emerge over the top of the volcano. One is recognisably Stephanie, with large shadow wings, and she seems to be carrying a more human Aj. The memory ends suddenly in a white flash.

Ihra finds herself back where she was before the memory. Only mere moments have passed, and Abigail still looks away with crossed arms.

 

I walk over to Ihra and sit next to her. I don't say a word. Abigail doesn't need pity for whatever that was, and Ihra just needs comfort.

 

I nod, before handing it to Ihra. I say to Vei, "Thank you, that's good enough. That should be enough time for me to cast the spell. Vei, I have to leave now. Can I trust you to slow down time when two hours have passed?"

"It's fine. The journey is quick. The only thing I was worried about is that I won't be able to have enough time to prepare everything. Well, I'll be off now" There is a hint of sincerity in my voice, but it's still dwarfed by the anger in it.

 

OCC: That Aether Aspect... Eh okay, counter measures I guess.

"Great job. You insulted a Rider's dragon and gave- wait never mind. You attempted to give it a permanent injury, I guess. Yep, now he'll be happy." I say sarcastically. You can hear a slow clap revebrate through your head, and the sound of someone eating burnt

The man seethes as you insult his dragon, visibly lighting on fire for a split second. He turns his attention to the sword you threw, smirking. The sword stops seconds before cutting the dragon, dropping to the ground. He chuckles "Yeah no. You can't just blindly throw your sword around and expect to win. That isn't how it works when you're dealing with a Rider. I have wards of protection around us, you see. Have. Fun. And I'm Lariuth, by the way. It's so nice of you to consider burying us, especially since I'm just going to roast you alive."

The red dragon stops circling and turns toward you, hate gleaming in their orange eyes. They dive at you with his massive claws outstretched. Lariuth raises his hammer and lunges at you, too.

OCC: Anagrams, anagrams. Heheheheh.

 

OOC: Jeez that is morbid

 

OCC: Yep. Ughhhh torture. This unearths so many bad memories.

I mean, it could have been worse, I guess. *shivers*

 

OOC: Though the story was better than what I expected from the beginning. By the way, I'm pretty sure it was only Ihra who saw that in terms of IC.

 

"Beautiful, you had me worried for a moment. One thing..."

I drop my arms, looking like I'm embracing the attack.
"...My name is Vesius."
I wait for the attack, grinning.

She looks at Abigail in shock, then runs up and hugs her.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know..."

"You have my word."

 

"Great, this will make things easier." I pull out my pocket watch and look at it. "Well, for real, I'll be off now. Goodbye. I'll probably return soon. Or maybe I won't" I look at the pocket watch again. "Probably the latter. Eh." I start walking back to my stronghold, albeit with a fast pace.
