Mage Or Assassian

So my main is archer and I would like to have a 2nd one, which should it be assassian or Mage? Tell me why you chose your answer and tell me your recommendation for a build.

 

My main is also archer, but ive been having a fun time with assassin. They both have similar play styles because you have to be good at dodging attacks.

 

I main archer, but between these two, I would choose mage just because you have healing and teleport, great skills in my opinion.

One makes it so that you use much less potions (with the fix of the life/manasteal and poison bug fix a while back)
Other skill is a great way to get past parkours is just to teleport across, which I would find pretty useful. (Although speed 3 in parkour is pretty good for archers)

Meteor damage got heavily lowered, but keep in mind you have a skill for healing, which most other classes have to rely of potions (I doubt many people run a full lifesteal/manasteal build late game) and it is affected by INT and mana regen.
Ice snake is ok for a ranged debuff skill

However assassin seems way more fun, except that the mobility skill isn't designed to be mobile, which is the only problem I have with it.

This is only between assassins and mages though

In my opinion, Assassin the the worst, but not based on power or anything, I just don't like it's playstyle.

 

Either is pretty good, but since you already have a class that is "ranged" I think you should pick Assassin.

 

Simple,in this case (Mage or Assassin):
If you prefer the ranged combat, the mage
If you prefer the melee combat, the assassin

...Archer is the best couf couf

I would say go mage if you want to have an easier time b/c you don't have to buy potions and you have a teleport. But I would say go assassin if you want a challenge and want to have fun.

 

Mages teleport is pretty good travel wise
Assassins vanish is good for sneaking past
Both require lots of mana tho
I would prefer warrior more tho XD
(Just because charge spell is pretty cool)

you have 0 slots and only earth damage , not any other damage nor elemental or neutral

 

Both are what I consider the "Tactical Classes" as brute force alone (Archer/Warrior) isn't enough to succeed. If you enjoy melee and being quick on your feet, choose assassin. If you like spells/long term strategic thinking, choose mage.

 

What if you enjoy both?

 

I currently have a level 51 mage and a level 41 assassin. At the current level my mage is, I'm extremely bored of it. So in result, I started an assassin. I've had much more fun with assassin for 2 weeks than I have with mage for 3 months.

 

That's because the 50s and 60s sucked for everyone.

In other words, starting fresh feels fun for everyone. Starting new in almost any RPG is good, especially if played a different way.

 

89 Mage heal saves me money on the potions

 

I would go for assassin, assassin has terrible ranged but can dodge multiple attacks and get close to your opponent quickly with vanish, from then you can use a spell like multi hit and deal great damage, my endgame build will consist of Weathered, Jester gear, Sparkweaver, Far Comos, Vaward and Memento, assassin is a powerful yet fun class to play with, and has some really good weapons like Weathered, Grimtrap, Alazarin, Rewind and Black. I think mage is slightly better balanced, but overall, assassin is better to play with and stronger in my opinion.
