Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It's both!" Artemis shouts, continuing to fire arrows.

"Shadowed One now's your chance!" Abigail shouts to me.

I fly up to where Abigail is and bury Shadow Katana in the robot's neck, flying around it. After a moment, I fly back, watching the robot fall.

"We did it!" I shout victoriously.

Artemis, Abigail and I regroup, high fiving. "Nice job, team!" Abigail say happily.

Artemis and I take off our helmets, and Abigail jumps back in her lava pool; jumping out in her casual clothing a moment later.

"I'm actually getting sort of hungry, you two have any food?" Abigail asks.

Artemis and I look toward Ihra.

 

"Ok, let's try and find Ihra and the others."
I start flying in no particular direction, searching for any sign of Ihra and the others.

 

She's asleep, leaning against Vei.
"I think she has a cookie or something in her box. I'd rather that not be opened, though. There's a... something in there she keeps wanting either me to wear or her to try on."

Rineth and Riihs are walking back from the distance.

"Master? I'm pretty sure we didn't come from the north..." Xephyr starts flying to the southwest. (roughly)

 

OOC: XD.

"Well, who knows where they are now."
I start flying in the same direction as Xephyr.

 

"It shouldn't be too far... let's start with where they were?"

 

"That would probably be best. Then we'll look around to see if we can find them. Chances are we will see signs of them in places."

 

Artemis smiles and lets out a slight "Aww" noticing Ihra asleep.

"Hey Aj, you wanna roast some bodies?" Abigail asks, looking at me.

"Sorry, but Ihra doesn't like blood. I don't want to make her uncomfortable." I say, smiling at the asleep Ihra.

"Ughhh, what am I gonna eat then?" Abigail says in an exhausted tone.

"I could grow you some fruit if you wanted." Artemis says happily.

"Fine..." Abigail replies, crossing her arms.

A small sapling grows next to Abigail, before sprouting an apple; which grows. Abigail picks the apple and eats it in a matter of seconds.

 

I decide to try and teach it to talk, every free moment I have.

 

"Huh." Lazarus isn't enjoying talking- he never does.

 

The sun sets by the time you find anything. It's a massive trail that looks like something big dragged themselves through the plains, towards the forest. The trail is flecked with little drops of golden liquid.

 

It takes until sunset, but you get to where you last saw them.
There's signs of a battle, but no signs of casualties or the group.

The only lead you have is what looks like a mark on the ground of a dragged tail. It points west.

Rineth returns to visibility, but Riihs isn't with him.
"He went off on his own." He almost whispers, noticing Ihra sleeping.
"Get her on your back, please?" Vei grumbles.

Rineth's tail carefully wraps around Ihra and sets her on his back, no signs at all of rousing her from her sleep.

It takes a long time.
Days, weeks, maybe a month.
You manage to teach it the basics of language. It can carry on basic conversations and understands its name (you should name it) and the meaning of a few words.
(Mainly; food, outside, inside, bed, sleep, out, come here, its name, your name, etc.)

You catch movement around a bush out of the corner of your eye.
It doesn't seem to stop Vei from keeping her pace.

"Hey, you might have feelings for this... Is Yhrey's blood golden too?"
I follow the trail.

 

"Why did Riihs go?" I ask.

"So are we going to Brisingr now?" Abigail asks, trying to hide her excitement.

Artemis seems a little nervous.

 

OOC: Just realised that I forgot about the wyvern. Oh well, let's just assume that it went back to pick up Hythania at some point XD.

"Hopefully nothing really bad happened..."
Hythania says, "So we follow the tail mark to the west?"
"Since there aren't any other leads, then that would be our only option."

 

"Not sure on either count. Artemis, I think we'll be walking this time."

"We're talking about Ihra here," Xephyr chuckles, "what could possibly go wrong... Oh wait.
Nah, I wouldn't be too worried about her. I still can feel her life force."

 

Artemis lets out a sigh of relief.

Abigail stands frozen for a moment, shocked. "WALKING!?" She exclaims.

"You seem a little aggravated. I may even ask 'You mad bro?' in a different speech pattern." I say, grinning at Abigail.

"Walking is nice anyway, you get to see the environment around you!" Artemis says happily.

"If my legs break you're totally carrying me Flower Power." Abigail says, crossing her arms.

 

"I doubt that your legs will break from walking. And either way, you have those Magma Boots, don't you?"

 

Abigail glares at you.

"The Magma Boots are used for flight. We're walking, so I can't exactly fly ahead and leave you behind."

I appear behind Abigail and whisper "You mad bro?"

Abigail punches me in the face, knocking me back.

 

"However, you would be able to hover, and that would prevent your legs from hurting from the exhaustion of walking, correct?"

 

Abigail looks away.

"Maybe..." She says, annoyed.

"It's funny how you're getting beaten by AI. I thought you were meant to be good at games." I say, grinning.

"I swear to god I'll rip your freaking heart out and eat it if you don't stop." Abigail says, her claws extending and pressing against my chest.

A large vine sprouts from the ground and grabs Abigail's hand, forcing it away.

"No you won't," Artemis says, "Stop aggrivating Abigail, Aj."

 

"Yes, every dragon in Brisingr has golden blood."
