Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Alright then, sounds like you have your own problems. I didn't mean to keep you from them this long."

"Take a look at this." Vei mutters.
(Repeat vision, falling, etc)

 

"Hmm, so she's even more vulnerable than Shadowed One? I guess I could always increase the potency of the resistance but..." Abigail trails off.

"So...we're just going to be waiting for something to happen around here? Because we can both wait, and make something happen." I say, nodding to Abigail.

Abigail's face lights up with glee.

"That's the only game of yours I can stand, because it's actually fun." Artemis says flatly.

 

"I assume that I would fall under the second category?"

 

"I think you'd need to wait for Rineth."

"No, you haven't been here long enough. Come on, start walking."

 

"But waiting is boring. I'm sure a little game couldn't hurt..." Abigail says, before diving into her pool of lava.

A short while later, Abigail jumps out of her pool, fully armoured. I summon a dark helmet in my hands, and put it on, before summoning a green one and passing it to Artemis.

Abigail, Artemis and I all bring down the visors on our helmets.

"Wait, does Ihra want to play?" Artemis asks.

"I have a spare helmet," I say, offering a purple helmet to Ihra, "Want to play some Ultra Quest with us?"

 

"What?"
"I'm wondering if you're more focused on survival or games..."

 

"Oh please, what's out here that's going to kill us apart from that." Abigail says, gesturing to nothing in front of her.

I de-summon the helmet, staring up at the invisible entity in horror, "We're fighting Rogue Mech X!?" I say in shock.

"Flower Power, get his legs and try and stop movement; Shadowed One, flank him and try to get his attention." Abigail barks.

Unseen to the others, a giant, humaniod robot towers above us.

I suddenly start running around the unseen being; Artemis summons vines which wrap around seemingly nothing; Abigail flies up and starts clawing at the invisible robot.

 

"Ihra, you may as well slee-OOF. Ideally not on... Well crap."
Vei just stares, looking unamused.

 

I suddenly go flying, as if propelled by an explosion. Abigail is grabbed by the unseen being and thrown to the floor.

"Flower Power, open fire!" Abigail shouts, getting up.

Artemis begins firing arrows at the unseen robot; they seem to disappear after hitting the entity.

I fly up to the robot's arm, slicing it off with a swift strike from Shadow Katana.

"Nice job, Shadowed One!" Abigail says, flying up.

"Dragon Breath, it's firing a missle at you!" Artemis shouts.

Abigail dodges an invisible missle, starting to slice at the robot again.

 

Lazarus starts walking. He checks on bowie constantly.

 

"Which is the game, the combat or the chance at victory?"

Bowie's rather fixed to your shoulder. In fact, with how tightly he's gripping, I'm pretty sure your shoulder would come off with him.

"Straight northeast, then we'll hit Brisingr. It'll be safer there than here... by how much I'm not sure."

 

"The combat, most likely."
I say, trying to state facts.
"They seem to enjoy hitting things. As in, anything."

 

"Sounds like we're not in a good situation?"

 

"Yep, just arriving now."

 

"Well, it's not the best, but it's not bad. Make of that as you will."

I surface.
"So, there's supposed to be a dragon here that never came back? Do you know anything about this, or is it news to you as well?"

 

"There's what? I mean yeah, that's news. I was doing other things while Faelar and you were conversing."

 

"Faelar told me that there was a dragon that hasn't returned here, and that they sent people who also haven't returned. Exploiting my desire to get on better terms with them, part of me thinks, I'm out to see what happened."

 

The question is... I think. Should I try and train it to talk? Or not?.. I teleport to my study room, to sit down in the deeply comfortable chair.

 

"Ah well, I don't sense anything alive outside of the ordinary farmer or animal in this general area. Of course, that could mean the dragon is DEAD ... but..."

 

For an ice dragon, it sure has an affinity towards the fireplace.

A thought hits your mind; if you teach it to talk, you could use it to get around once it grows up. Communicating would be easier, and you'd have an ice dragon obeying you.

On the other hand, it would take a lot of work, and you have plenty of studies to busy yourself...

"Well, that doesn't mean I won't take a look."
I look at my surroundings, looking for any trace of a dragon falling, a fight, or anything that seems slightly out of the norm.
