Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It feels good to have the heat flowing through my feathers again... wait did that sound weird? I don't want it to sound wierd... Man everything I say turns out wierd... Oh wait I mispelled weird..." Lazarus ends up mumbling quietly to himself. He does this alot.

 

Ihra shudders.
"I know you've no reason to listen to me, but for the sake of you and your friends, I'd like you to hang back with Ihra." Vei looks slightly less bitter.

"Nah, you're only one god. I get that you can't keep tabs on absolutely everyone. You've got other problems to deal with... like the fact I'm not dead, so everyone else is here."

"Going to pretend I only heard the first half of that. So, I don't know if you have any knowledge of the mainland, but first thing's first; this place is called No Man's Land. Step one is getting you out of here alive, which I doubt will be hard."

 

"So we just... Kill everyone else. Problem solved."

 

Artemis seems a little torn, "You make a fair point, but..." Artemis looks over to me, as I chant 'Brisingr' with Abigail, "I love him, and I don't want to spend time apart. What if something happens and I end up killing Ihra? Wouldn't that be worse than my friends, who I know can get themselves out of bad spots?" She says, with sadness to her voice.

Artemis sighs, "I don't know..." She says, frustrated.

"What if something were to happen to me and I didn't have Aj to bail me out, as he so often does..." Artemis says almost to herself. She seems to be struggling on the decision.

 

"Heh, sounds easy, doesn't it? Thing is, this whole war is hard on us... Surrender has been a huge temptation.

We fragments retain most, if not all, memories of our ancestor fragments. That includes what our opponents were like, and that the curse they're under crosses generations. The worst part? Because of that, I know they're freed for only their last moments. I hate fighting them, I really do... but every time I think about it, I use it to push myself to keep fighting. If we don't stop them, who will? Who can?

...but my sister? My twin? I've never seen her free, and now I never will... It hurts more than I thought."

"Ihra follows them, you just wouldn't be on the front lines, period. Either that, or they follow Ihra...

...though, I don't think you could kill Ihra. That scythe couldn't even go through her robe; you'd have to get her hood off her horns."
Vei blasts Ihra with energy bursting from her hands. She shrieks, and Vei prevents her from getting launched.
"Sorry, needed to demonstrate."
Ihra looks bitter.

"That? More powerful than your scythe, focused onto a point the size of the tip of Vesius' rapier. You wouldn't cut it, literally."

 

"It's not the Scythe I'm worried about, it's my powers," Artemis says with a grim tone, "I could suck the life from her without needing to even touch her."

"I won't demonstrate; it'll probably cause me to lose control." Artemis says, looking down.

"My father was training me to fight when he was killed. I remember him shouting for me to run; and I did. I ran all the way back to our home. It's what almost got me killed," Artemis says with a sad tone, "I'm not going to run away from battles, leave other people to deal with them. I'm going to fight whoever comes my way, alongside my friends."

Artemis' face bears an expression of determination.

 

Vei glances at the ground.
"Forgive me for butting into affairs that aren't mine. I respect your drive."

 

"I'm sorry... At least you had a sib- no, at least you have something to fight for. The only reason I'm still here is for Brisingr, and in all honesty I only feel it as my responsibility. None of the people actually care what happens to me as long as I don't die, so I feel the same way. I reflect ThE LAnDs CuRRenT StATe -ow... And it obviously isn't that pretty. Our greed and riches over the past millenia have molded the lesser peoples, and thus me."

"I'm... sorry. I know I'm the cause of a problem, but... when this is all over, if I'm still alive, I want to help. My world has been in shambles for generations... This is the first merciful other I've come across.

...Sorry to ruin the mood, but are we there yet?"

 

"Well, I guess you can't get out yourself..." I melt the ice away, releasing the dragon and going into the entrance.

 

Artemis smiles, "Thanks." She says, before walking over to Abigail and I.

"Brisingr! Brisingr!" We continue to chant.

 

OOC: Well, only Idala looks like Daras because she's his daughter. There wouldn't be any resemblance between Hythania and Daras because Hythania is his wife. Still, one of them at least does look like Daras.

"This is Hythania and Idala. Hythania was the king's wife and Idala was his daughter. They didn't share the same ideas as Daras."

 

"Why is this place so dangerous?" Lazarus hasn't been in life-threatening situations before. He is frightened.

 

This time, it follows you inside.

Ihra looks at you in disgust.
"I started moving around so I wouldn't be in Brisingr, but... Maybe."

"I... I guess I'll take your word for it. Good to meet you. If I haven't said it already, I'm Lisa, the third Daughter of Storms. Aria only spoke of Eras, and Xephyr doesn't match her description."
Xephyr slinks back a bit.

"Things come here that kill on sight... You have to be strong or stupid to stay here a long time."

 

"Hey, I could totally protect you from the fire in Brisingr!" Abigail says happily, "You wouldn't need to worry about getting set on fire."

Abigail summons a fireball in her hand, then throws it up and summons another, before catching the first and throwing the second and summoning a third. Abigail starts juggling a trio of fireballs, "Nothing to worry about!" She says, concentrating on the fireballs.

 

"Let me show you something..."
Vei's tomes spin in a ring. AJ is forced into a vision.

A draconian who looks older than Ihra is in combat with a draconian in a blue cloak. A spark from their clashing blades causes the one that looks like Ihra to erupt into flames, quickly reducing them to robe and ash.

You find yoursef on the ground after the vision.
"I'd like to avoid that as much as she does."

 

"Ugh...why didn't you show that to Dragon Breath?" I say, rubbing my eyes.

Abigail focuses on juggling her fireballs, they seem to accelerate in speed.

 

"Because I'd rather she not drop those."

 

"Idala and Hythania wanted to come with me when we went to the Void Palace."

 

The fireballs suddenly sail upwards, exploding in the air.

"So, we going now? Or are we waiting around a little longer?" Abigail asks.
