Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Abigail becomes enraged, sending out a huge jet of fire toward Nyre.

"DIE!" She screams.

Artemis grows a pair of large vine hands, which accelerate towards Nyre.

I wait for my time to strike...

 

OOC: Meanwhile, back at where we are...

I hear an explosion, and turn my head to where that was. I notice some figures and some green things.
"What... is going on over there?"
I question, to no one in particular.

 

"I see." I turn to Riihs. "Riihs, if you don't mind, I'll make go over there and check on the fight."

"Seems like a fight is happening. In all honesty, I think those three can handle whoever they're fighting." I turn to Riihs.

I walk over to the fight, and then, turning to Aj, I ask "I apologize if I am intruding, but who is it exactly you are fighting and why? Or are you all just drunk?" I start coughing again while laughing slightly. This time, I draw my sword and plunge it into the ground, seemingly curing my fit of coughs.

 

Nyre hardly moves, letting the plasma splash from the fire take care of the vine hands.
"You shouldn't make my job this easy. Mistress draws ever closer to this world, and when she gets close enough, yours truly will unleash her wrath upon you!"
Armor plating materializes over his robe.
"AJ, if you're going to be sneaky, don't be so slow."

"Nyre. It's best we hang back, else he might go overboard and kill one of us."

"I'm Nyre, and you're interrupting my gambling. Now, stand aside or I'll melt you by accident. Or on purpose. Depends on if you keep interfering with my card game!"

"Ah. Greetings." I walk back over to Riihs, and then ask "Do you know who this Nyre is?"

 

"Hahah! Yeah, he's a real thorn in our side. He can copy abilities by shooting things, and he's pretty trigger happy. He loves gambling, though. That part's stuck through his corruption. Before that happened, though, he'd never cheat. He'd bend the odds, but in fair ways. He hated losing gambling partners; I bet even now you could sit at a table with him and shoot dice."

 

"Ah, I see. Is he on our side?"

 

"Nope. I doubt he'd let us kill him, but he's more into fighting for sport. The corruption may have twisted him, but I still see he's all about the adrenaline rush of gambling and combat."

 

"Ah. Would anyone mind it if I attempted to smite him?"

 

Abigail just becomes more infuriated.

Abigail speeds toward Nyre incredibly fast, before quickly slicing at him in rapid motions with her claws.

Artemis seems rather exhausted.

Abigail's visor tracks a second being near to Nyre.

 

"He'd probably copy it and return fire. He doesn't usually mess with people unless he thinks they're in his way."

A swipe of Nyre's dagger causes two of the claws to shatter.

"Hmm... You're not as much fun as I hoped. Perhaps a little heat will get you warmed up?"
Abigail is coated in plasma.

 

"Hmm interesting." I use the stolen ability to grow some vines on the ground, and then steal one of Nyre's abilities. "Now, Riihs, might I ask what would happen if we used the same move against each other?"

 

Abigail is stricken with grief as her claws shatter. She resists the heat of the plasma.

While Nyre is distracted with Abigail, I appear behind him. I bring Shadow Katana, pointed downward, down on his head.

 

Your copy fails.
"Well... it'd be stupid."

Ditto.
He appears behind you, letting a bolt fly into your back as his copy melts into plasma.
"Shame we didn't meet over a deck of cards. I think I'd enjoy a game pretty well with you." He grins.
"Now, if you wouldn't mind, entertain me a little without aggrivating the light wizard. If someone's going to kill you, it'd be a shame if it was him."

 

"You have a point. Then again, when I fought Tirai and Lefayla, one of them used some energy bolts to counter the ones I used. Oh, look!" I point to the battle. "I think one of them might have been killed. Shall I attempt to intervene?"

 

"YOUR TIME IS UP." Artemis says with darkness to her voice.

Artemis floats above the ground, the area around her withering away in a sphere. She holds Gaia's Scythe, and her eyes glow a dark green.

"IT'S TIME YOU MET YOUR INEVITABLE FATE." She booms.

Abigail blasts away from Nyre and Artemis as fast as she can, only arcing back to grab me.

 

"Daras didn't send the Drakonshade after us but the Drakonshade had several things in its favour. First, SOMEONE thought travelling through the void lots of times, at the same point, going between worlds was a good idea. Then Daras had saved it in the past, and since he has been doing lots of things lately, it probably sensed him and didn't obey my command. Finally, the Drakonshade hates humans because they had captured it and forced it to fight other monsters in an arena, far away from the Void but, since I had summoned a few to this world around that time, it couldn't change into a Pure form yet."

 

"I would recommend against it. When things get chaotic, it's best to hang back a bit. You don't survive these fights without avoiding most of the punishment."

"Inevitable? Yes. To you? Well... let's see what you've got, 'Flower Power.' Still need more than a three of a kind, and unless the river's giving you something more, I'd say your efforts here are in vain."

"That makes... I'm just going to stop asking. What's next? I'm getting a bit worn down. Hopefully it doesn't involve another big encounter."

 

"We'll try to find the others. They probably aren't around here still but I'm not sure where else they might be."

 

"There's more? I... There's no way I can do that again for a while..."

She shakes her head. From the locket, you can hear her thought;
"Ugh, what am I saying? I don't want to be abandoned. I can do one more... I hope."

"...I'll try, though."
