I like 1.9 combat, it justifies damage potions (they go through shields and can be thrown REALLY fast). the only thing I don't like is the damage on the scythe. IT IS LITERALLY A SLOWER FIST! WTF MOJANG?

I disagree 1.8 combat regulated pvp to have the slightest delay which completly and almost fully made pvp a fair game to all... The new pvp really makes it to where spam eating gapples a viable strategy

I don't see why a lot of people don't like 1.9. Honestly, I think it will greatly enhance the Wynncraft experience.

and it wasn't before? oh, also
-fishing rod spamming (I know, I know; 'it helps get combos', but the fact that you could just spam it and then switch back to the sword with no repercussions is stupid)
    -enderpearl spamming
-almost NO repercussions to missing an attack
-swords were the only viable weapon
-no way to attack hordes of mobs
-no real way to create a 'smoke bomb' in vanilla minecraft
and as for spamming gapples, I dare you to try and do it while a player continually makes sure you stand in a lingering potion of poison. gapple spamming just gives the opponent the ability to trap you in a spiderweb, poison you, eat their own gapple, and then throw harming pots at you. you can't last forever spamming gapples.
like what? you can disable the attack speed feature, and besides, it makes PvP a lot more of a tactics game.

I've never understood why people hate on 1.9 PVP, seriously, the only "reason" for hating on it I've seen is very dumb, like it ruins jitterclicking.
I've never heard of the term "jitterclicking" until 1.9 PVP reworks were introduced, I feel like it was made up by 1.9 haters.
Also, I have yet to see a valid reason other than "it r00inz pvp u skrublord, i bet u suked b4 this," or "it ruins teh r0d strat."
In fact, 1.9 actually makes the rod strat real, I've never seen anyone prove the actual existance of the rod strat prior to 1.9. (Plus 1.9 makes whatever it did before 1000 times better.)

Sorry, I just really hate 1.9 haters with no reason besides "it r00ins pvp."
(Yes, I do realize I've said that 3 times now.)

The only thing I don't like about the new combat system is the gapple nerf, but I guess it fits with the slower attack damage.

Heres the deal, likewise how the 1.9 pvp is and how it can be disabled. The 1.9 pvp shouldve been a command rather than a new game mechanic

I mean these terms are older than minecraft 1.6 but the thing is only recently about 3 months ago have i gotten into pvp and I will tell you it elongates battles to an unecessary term

That first part is true already, just reversed.

I would also like to hear some things about fishing rods too.

While elongating battles is pretty good counter argument, that could also be seen as a pro of 1.9 combat.
    Anymore arguments?

Of course the arrows are cool. But, the point of things like ssm or badlion pvp is to make the battle short by comboing. More minigames and servers rely on this mechanic, yes also the fishing rod is admitidly better now. Pulling in rather than pushing is a much needed feature.
