Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis and I share a shocked look for a moment.

"I think she's right, reminding someone about getting stabbed isn't the nicest thing." Artemis says with a serious tone.

"I agree. That reminds me, don't we have unfinished business?" I say, smiling.

"Unfinished business?" Artemis asks, yet she seems to understand already.

Artemis and I finish our dance spectacle with a loving kiss.

 

I start clapping childishly.
"Woo! Great performance!"
I toss a gold coin at them.

 

It bounces off Ihra, waking her up.

"Ffffwha... what happened... ughhlllllll..."

 

"The last-resort-crystal thing happened again."
I say casually.
"But you should be fine now."

 

"So I was dying. Great."
She drags herself over to her staff.
"I think I'm gonna just..."

"She REALLY likes sleeping, doesn't she..."
I say to AJ, while walking over to her and standing guard.

 

"We'll go back through the Void Hall."
We, all four now, walk back to the Void Hall. When we reach the first pillars, which are the seventh pillars, I reach out my hands to each.
A strange aura starts glowing around us.
We shift through the Void and appear at...
"WHAT?! The Shrouded Peaks are destroyed?!"
The pile of rubble with a few rocks sticking out of the ground is actually the remains of the Shrouded Peaks.
"The Feligstone Serpent must have been here long enough to weaken the mountains. Then the explosion finished weakening the mountains. At least the Feligstone Serpent likely killed all of the miners before we destroyed the mountains..."

 

"Oh he-"
Xephyr collapses, a dark aura emanating from her eyes.
"Nnnot... nnot like thhhissss..."
Her tome opens, surrounding the remains of the mountains in perfect darkness.

You can hear her scream, but the darkness doesn't relent. For whatever reason, you cannot see past it.
"M-master... b-b-behind youuu... H-h-help... I-I'm..."
Her locket flashes, and you can see a twisted outline of her through the blackness.

Race: Half Human, Half Demon
Ability(ies): He can steal any ability at any given time.
Blade, Bow, or Tome? (Choose up to two): Blade (Sword made of invincible ice. Very light, yet very sharp. Soulbound. Given by a creature from another realm) Bow (Crossbow with automatic loader. Think: Semi Automatic Rifle)
Position in community: Knight Captain
Additional Details and Lore: Sir Robert of Greenhill Stronghold, or simply Rob, is a knight (obviously). He is the captain of the elite knights that guard Greenhill Stronghold. Before he was promoted to a Captain, a creature from another realm saw that he had potential, and gave him a sword made of pure ice.
Relative location of settlement: Greenhill Stronghold is located in the wasteland, on a hill that was left untouched by the war for an unknown reason.

 

Ability needs to be tweaked.
If you can settle for: Can copy most abilities most of the time, then I'll let it slide. (No making paradoxes with Nyre)

Also not sure which region the location is in/near.
Other than that, looks good.

 

Yep, most of the time. Also, I forgot to mention that he can only use the ability he stole once.

I misread it in the Void Rift Report.

No Mans Land- used to be part of Gargantuan, but was taken over by bandits and magical creatures that it was deamed uninhabitable. So uninhabitable that no villages have been seen there sence The War of Titans.

Artemis and I just stare at each other for a while; content with our own company.

Artemis looks over to you, "You weren't supposed to tell her!" She says, slightly annoyed.

"I've been thinking she might suffer from narcolepsy. That would explain the frequent unconsciousness." I say, smiling.


Artemis and I hold hands.

Only thing between you and starting is the fact it's one in the morning and I'm feeling rather dead.

"If you were drained of your energy constantly, wouldn't you try to sleep?" Vei's voice echoes.

 

"I guess, but that rarely happens. I usually sleep for the fun of it, or to clear my mind." I say.

"Why is she constantly drained of energy?" Artemis asks with concern.

I fly into the air and go towards Xephyr quickly.
"Whoever you are, stop this now.", I say to the darkness in general.
Idala reaches into her pocket and takes out... a sickle?!
"Whoops... uh, need to change this a bit."
The sickle changes into... wait, is that Eras' tome?!
Her eyes glow purple and she whispers, though the whisper carries itself through the darkness, "You dare to hurt someone like this? Perhaps you wish to face the wrath of-"
(For dark theme users, that last bit was: "You dare to hurt someone like this? Perhaps you wish to face the wrath of-", but I'm doing purple for Idala when she does this sort of thing. )

The voices don't seem to be coming from anywhere. If anything, they seem to be echoes.

"Stop a moment and think what she's been doing. Do you think she's just spellcasting with no cost?"

"J-j-just blast me withh ssomethhing... Hurry..."
The distortion gets bigger.

 

"But...that doesn't make sense. Magic and Energy are two separate..." I trail off.

"Does that crystal of hers take her energy in cost for nearly unlimited magic?" Artemis asks.

 

"In a sense... because she can also kill herself by overcharging the staff. Her soul is bound to that crystal; her energy and the staff's magic are related, but the crystal doesn't constantly drain her energy. It's more of an on-demand thing."

 

"Soulbinding...I've heard of such things. Supposedly a powerful wizard once sealed parts of his soul in various items to make himself unkillable; since his soul was still intact if his body was ever destroyed." Artemis says.

"Soulbinding is a dangerous process; though I'm sure Ihra had no choice in the matter when she accepted the staff. Power in exchange for vulnerability."
