Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We all have our perspectives. Forgive me for trying to change yours. Though, the balance you seek can also be restored through them... it also means neverending conflict."
Rineth glances at Ihra.
"A god cannot watch all. A god must remain ignorant, or they will cease to fulfill their purpose. We all have our place; don't waste yours telling me that others are faulty."

 

We walk down the hall, leaving the pillars behind. A large door is at the other end.
As I approach, it suddenly starts opening.
Walking through, we come out in some sort of courtyard. There are seven more pillars, this time extremely large.
The black pillar is just as desolate as before, as well as dark surroundings.
But on the gold pillar, there is some sort of garden surrounding it. And stairs spiral around the pillar and lead up to a hall made of dark material.
The silver pillar is surrounded by another garden, but this time animals live inside it. There is, once again, nothing on the silver pillar.
On the green pillar, there are now a few buildings. Different buildings are made out of different things, seemingly by choice of the owners. The green pillar is surrounded by a... farm?
On the white pillar are still more houses, and this time many reach away from the pillar itself so that they can fit into the courtyard. At the bottom of the courtyard are three different areas: a small garden, some rocks and a pond.
The red pillar has few people and is surrounded by a barren area, which looks as if it were a battlefield.
And finally, the seventh pillar...
It is still a colour you can't describe. But this time, it has barely formed. Matter and dark magic swirl together. The pillar seems to be forming slowly, but it is slowly forming and becoming more physical.

 

"This is... surprising. Is this your true domain?"

 

"I doubt they'd be too happy with Vesius merging with them; Xephyr said they were corrupt or something. I've been thinking Ihra might be a descendant of my kind, considering her powers with nature. If I could get more information on Xlentia's powers, I might be able to figure something out." Artemis says.

I look over my bed with sad eyes.

Artemis gives a withering look, "Be careful who you try to anger." She says; despite being unable to fully stand by herself yet.

 

"This is where both me and the Cult of Darkness live. The hall on the golden pillar is mine. On the green pillar are people related to me or even already immortal. Those on the white or red pillars are those who have braved my challenges and have reached the Void Palace, though the first King of the Darklands on the green pillar came here through that way too. Nothing lives at the black pillar as nothing existed then and there was no way to the Void Palace except the portal I wanted to keep hidden under the Shrouded Peaks, the one we used. Since the green pillar was created, I created another way here."

 

"What? Did I do something wrong?"
Ihra's back to (relatively) normal, it seems. (Again)

 

"I'm sure I could mess with time and such and fix it; even though the act could nearly tear my very existence apart so I won't." I say calmly.

I eye Ihra curiously, making sure she truly is back to normal.

 

"Interesting... Has anyone ever tried to break in here? This place seems... I dunno. Everything looks so carefully kept."

You notice she still has an egg tooth.
And it still looks ridiculous.

"Wait... what? Did I miss something important?"

Rineth buries his face in his claws.

 

"What the...hell" I say looking at the egg tooth.

"Have you been trying to eat eggs whole or something?" I say, stating at the odd tooth.

Artemis facepalms.

 

She looks at you confused at first, then goes cross eyed for a moment.

"NEVER MAKE FUN OF IT!" She shrieks as she lunges at you with her axe.
Rineth grabs her with his tail before she can reach you.
"HE WAS MAKING FUN OF ME LET ME GOO!"
"Give him a break Ihra. He didn't know."
"But he... he... okay. Sorry, AJ..."

 

"Haha, it's fine." I say, drawing Shadow Katana.

"How about a duel, shall we? To settle our diff-" Artemis cuts me off by growing vines around my mouth; and seizing my arm with them.

"We don't need fighting." She says with a serious tone. Artemis seems to be able to stand again.

 

"No. I mean, it is hard enough to get here in the first place, with the Castle Dungeon and the path with all the Drakonshades. But then there isn't much to do here, except the memories. But even then, the memories only hold important events, most of which are well known. Then there are the inhabitants themselves, most of which, if not all, have skill in battle."

 

"What just... what..."
"Ignore that, Ihra."
"Uhm... Okay...?"

"Interesting. So, these pillars are inhabited, but they also function as records?"
She looks at the seventh.
"Why is that one fluxuating so much?"

 

"If you don't mind me asking, what are the origins of that egg-shaped tooth you have?" Artemis asks politely.

 

"That is the pillar of our current 'age'. Each colour, the events causing the pillar, general things which happen in its age, all of these are linked. The pillars back in the Void Hall don't have an identifiable colour, as events aren't turning from any direction different from the last age yet. The same is for this large pillar: it can't form until events swing in a certain direction."

 

"I hatched."
"She's the firstborn. They have no idea how to really manage youth who aren't kept and brainwashed in stasis for their first few thousand years. Then most of those die in the Rites. They also weren't sure how to get the egg tooth off, and now she hates people commenting on it or touching it."

"So after a while, it will start to take on a color? Then what would happen in the future? Would another pillar appear?"

 

I disappear.

"That's rather odd; is it just egg in shape? It'd surely be quite odd to have a creature hatching within Ihra's mouth."

I appear behind Ihra and try to touch the egg tooth, smiling evilly.

 

"Yes, once events start to happen. As for in the future, a pillar wouldn't appear until another major event or set of events happened."

 

OOC: By egg tooth, I mean a little pointy thing hatchlings use to break the eggshell when they hatch.

She nips you.

"Interesting. It's like a dynamic history... Though, one thing concerns me. What keeps this place separate from the rest of the Void?"

 

OOC: You know, I thought it was weird that someone would have an ovular tooth. I guess I need to stop being so literal.


I pull my hand away quickly.

"I don't get why you're so annoyed by that, I think it's cool." I say, "Even though my teeth are malleable; and therefore can be sharpened at will."

I show my teeth; they're dauntingly sharp.
