SPOILER Mechanical Key Use Found!

While exploring the areas surrounding ToA, I found something peculiar:



There's a button inside.


Let's see what happens when we press it.



I don't think the server uses some sort of fancy teleportation plugin, so I assume that the message that is displayed pops up because this spot is in fact a teleportation device.

Later, I found this carpet and everyone knows that carpets mean hoppers, so I tried throwing an Emerald on it but the hopper wouldn't eat it.

Then, I remembered that I had a 'Mechanical key' in my bank, so I rushed to Nesaak to get it and came back, I threw it on the carpet and it worked!




What happened was that out of the carpet flew out a snowball that threw itself to the entrance of the 'teleporter', which then opened itself.

The door to the teleporter is opened by default, when I got there it was open.

I assume you first need to throw the Key into the hopper in order to open it.

Inside the area is a pressure plate, when you step on it, the entrance to the teleporter closes and then opens, then closes after a short while.




The door being in the Open position is probably unintentional and was probably meant to only open when the Key is thrown into the hopper, I wouldn't have found this place if it was closed by default.

It's not really important, I faintly recall seeing this before. Not personally, but I'm fairly certain I've seen it.

In any case, even if it wasn't new, these kinds of things aren't very important.

We discovered this a few weeks back when it was first released.

If you are familiar with Gale and Ohms then you will know that there is supposed to be a boss fight against Ohms and this should be where you teleport into it (it's unfinished as the builders are lazy)

 

Oh, I didn't know, I haven't been following them at all.

 

This place was firstly discovered by me shortly after Gale's Tomb was found.
Many speculate that this is the entrance to the yet unfinished Ohms' Lab (and I also think that way), but only time will tell if it's the truth. As Selvut said, "patience is the watchword."
Oh, and by the way, there's nothing else around here. Many have looked around before, to no avail.
