About Ethereal

I've been seeing lots of Pure builds lately, (~400% SD is really neat) and think that's great, but is it possible to make builds with other wands, such as Ethereal?

 

Ethereal builds work great, if you'd like I can try make a quick build for you just tell me your level so I know what you can and can't use.

 

In all reality, you don't need pure. It does the same as around a level 90 wand

 

That's very kind of you, I am lvl 78 (erermger scrub-a-diver), and I'm gonna assume since Ethereal needs lots of intel it's gonna be based around spells

 

So the armour I'm going to recommend for you is fairly low level but I have a level 77 pure/ Ethereal build and this works perfectly.
Helmet: Spectre
Chest plate: Millenium (Needs at least 200 spell damage)
Leggings: crystal (mana regen and hey, a lot of reflection as well)
Boots: Passus lux (More mana regen and mana steal)
Necklace: jester necklace
Bracelet: jester bracelet
Ring 2: jester ring
Ring 1: if possible the legendary ring concentration, if not available the ring from murder mystery granted you haven't thrown it away. And if that's not possible just get a ring with mana regen/ steal/ spell damage.

Skill points:
First get the required amounts for your armour.
With the rest put it into intelligence and agility.

I just realized I have Sodeta Boots, would that be an alright replacement or is it up to preference? +21% Spell Dam and 2/4s Mana Regen

 

It's up to preference, sodeta has more spell damage but passus lux has mana regen and mana steal

 

My mage is level 84 and the build I've been using is:
Heliophobia
Millennium
Ectoplasm (Crystal is better, I just can't find a decent one)
Clock Boots (Pre-nerf version)
Concentration
3/3 Jester set
Ethereal

My meteors can do about 10.000 neutral damage, 2.000 water damage, 600 fire damage and about 400 earth damage.
So yeah, Ethereal builds are still pretty powerful.
The only downside this build has is VERY low health for it's level.

 

It is possible. But I find that the rare wand called Sanare is actually better for non-id damage. However, the damage is actually entirely water, so you might not like that due to certain bosses being resistant to elements.
