Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"If you shine a torch on her you'll have far more problems than the two of us to worry about." Artemis says before I can respond.

"So your father trained you in the ways of using a battleaxe, and your mother trained you in the magical arts? Interesting..." Artemis says, lowering her hand from her head, her eyes losing their glow.

I whisper something to Artemis, she nods in understanding.

OOC: Sounds like a plan.

 

"Yeah, that. I don't usually use the axe; healers aren't normally on the front lines."
She lays flat on Rineth's back.
"He helped me learn how to use the staff in the first place."

 

"You're a healer?" Artemis asks, somewhat surprised, "It's probably not my place to judge, but I feel as if that crystal of yours would go to much better power if you used it offensively."

 

"I'll take that as a yes? I just want to make sure I'm not asphyxiating... her by bending away the light. It just means no light will hit her body. I kind of assumed that that would help without asking first... also it means she's invisible and can't see anything."
I cough, embarrassed.
"Sorry, it's just... been a while since I've been with so many people."

OOC: 5 People sounds about right, I really just meant people interested in having their chars. drawn

"I don't care. Mother told me I should keep healing people and that I'd be fine. I trust her."
"She can give other people energy as well. She can be useful in a fight; anything that gets through her shields and barriers is healed, and anything that doesn't disintegrate when it hits the shields generally have short-lived owners."
Rineth looks at Ihra, gently smiling.
Ihra looks at the two of you, slumped lazily over Rineth's back.

 

"Well...that's sort of a good thing...and a bad thing..." Artemis says nervously, looking to me

"By nullifying the light you're definitely helping her heal, since it would take longer otherwise. However...I'm not sure she's the best with users of light magic," I say awkwardly, "You probably couldn't hide from her using the same trick either, because of our...heh, vision" I say, my eyes glowing slightly.

"By any chance does your mother have a tendency to take revenge on those that have harmed her?" Artemis says, glancing over to me with a look of disappointment.

 

"No, I can do much more intricate things. I already know how easily you two are to fool, seeing as this form is really an illusion."
I snap my fingers, and a flower appears in my hand. I throw it into the air, and it bursts into flame. A flock of doves flaps out from the ashes, then vanishes.
"...Or is it an illusion?"
I grin, then show as my hand seems to vanish, then reappear.
"I suppose now you understand why I always find everyone's sense of dramatic flair all so boring."

 

Artemis eyes you suspiciously.

"Aj, could I talk to you for a moment?" Artemis asks me walking away.

I shrug and follow her.

Stephanie stirs a little in her unconsciousness, she seems to have healed considerably.

 

"Unless I ask her not to, yes; usually she just sends them to the Void and leaves them there so her work is cut out for her."

Ihra slides off Rineth and walks towards Stephani.
"Hey, they're alive! Now I can... Wait... This is the golem person."

Ihra steps back.
"Having a dilemma here..."

 

After a short private talk, Artemis and I walk back.

"Th...The void?" Artemis confirms, shuddering slightly.

"Stephanie's alive again?" I ask.

Artemis and I exchange fearful looks.

"You should...probably run..." Artemis says before running over to where Stephanie lies.

 

With a tap of her staff, Ihra blinks back onto Rineth.
"Right. There's going to be an issue momentarily... Ihra, you sure you don't want to run?"
"Yes. I pulled them here, I should be there when they wake."
"Urgh... I'll be ready to jump if things go sour."
"Understood. If you can't feel it, then I'm holding on."
"IHRA, I'M AWARE."
"Sorry."

 

Seeing the interaction, I bend the light about Aj (Light magic on others is less accurate, unless they carry a vessel of my magic, like 13 is, to help focus), but there is still a faint outline where he is standing.

I also dim the effect around Stephanie, to allow some sensory input (not feeling light while conscious makes people think they're asleep).

 

"You...probably wouldn't what to meet Stephanie when she wakes up." I say in a serious tone, running off to join Artemis.

Suddenly, a dark mist explodes from where Stephanie is lying. It's so dark nothing can be seen through it.

An ominous red flash appears in the mist. The sound of arrows being fired can be heard in the mist.

Artemis screams before getting thrown out of the dark mist and sliding on the ground. Her right arm is dislocated, and blood drains from her mouth. She's completely unconscious.

"IHRA! RU-AAAGRGH!" I'm cut off from speaking.

The dark mist dissipates, a dark figure remains in it; it's head decapitated, and a large stab wound through it's torso.

Something suddenly grabs Ihra from behind.

"Boo." Stephanie says, placing a small metal Golem on Ihra's shoulder.

 

"RGAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She shrieks, passing out.
Rineth flips his wing, appearing next to you and Artemis.
"The hell...? Ihra, get up!"
Rineth pokes her with his tail, and she slides off as she recovers.
"W... w-what...." She's shaking in fear. "N-no... mother... w-went... dark..."
Her staff reappears in her hand.
"P-please... don't..."
Rineth stands guard around Ihra.

 

OOC: Yes, you got the convo thing right. I'm in a large convo and have that problem. Though you can get a mod to add more people.

I go back up to the main square and wait until I think Xephyr will be rested. I then go to find her.

 

Blood spurts from my neck as my body tries to reach it's decapitated head.

Suddenly, Stephanie appears in front of Ihra.

Another Stephanie appears a short distance away.

They continue to appear until 8 Stephanies surround Ihra, holding twin daggers.

"Which one of us is the real one?" They say in unison, their voices laced with evil.

 

She's still at the shrine. When you get there, she's just waking up.
*yawn* "Thanks, Keila... I feel so much better now."
"No problem, Xephyr. Oh? Looks like Eras is back. I'm sorry there's not a lot to see here."

Her eyes flash red.
"In the next ten seconds, it won't matter."

You feel yourself reform and forced to your senses; same with Artemis.
"Nine."
Ihra blinks out of the circle.
"Eight."
The crystal on her staff begins glowing with exponentially increasing intensity.
"Seven; your turn."

Rineth vanishes.

 

The Stephanies laugh manically, tears streaming down their faces.

It almost sounds as if the laughter is coming from another source...

The Stephanies suddenly pound their hands into the ground. 8 snakes of darkness make their way towards the crystal staff.

Artemis and I are nowhere to be seen...?

 

Ihra warps away.
You can't trace or find her.

Part of her staff's glow remains in the area.

"You don't seem friendly to those who saved your life." Rineth's voice echoes.

 

The snakes evaporate as soon as they come close to the crystal.

The Stephanies stand back in shock, before suddenly laughing...?

The Stephanies fall to the ground laughing, tears stream down their faces. They try to stand up and make an attack, but they wind up laughing so much they can't.

Something doesn't seem right about this...
