How Is Wynn Planning On Handling 1.9

So this is not another suggestion thread. This is a bit of a question thing.

1.9 was planned to release today. But I expect it will be out in the next few days. Does wynn have any plans on how to handle this?

Currently the only big problem would be putting items in your off hand, which should not make a big difference. But like attack speed and stuff like that might still get screwed up.

I am just curious if Wynncraft is ready, or if it will take a few weeks to make it all 1.9

 

Since it take a long time for Wynncraft to stop 1.7 I think you can wait.

But in reality, I doubt full usage of update 1.9 will be in effect until much later (hell, might even take half a year or more).

 

we can't acess 1.8 servers with 1.9 ...thats how it will handle this

 

I doubt Wynncraft will go rush into 1.9 so quickly.

Seeing as how 1.9 is such a large change to combat, and Wynncraft largely involving combat, Wynncraft will likely have to make major changes to accept 1.9 into its system. There may be a way to disable 1.9 features (as with 1.8 and 1.7), to make 1.9 compatible with the server, but to actually include its features would probably take some time. The new attack speed function would help with Wynncraft's Attack Speed, as it's somewhat inaccurate at the moment; you can attack some time before you weapon fully draws back. The offhand slot will heavily affect gameplay, if used at all, due to how it could potentially work, and what it could do. The other new features that are to come with 1.9 can also pose other complications.

 

There have been quite a few posts talking about this which I have already replied. I don't know how Wynncraft will handle the 1.9, but it will be awesome.
You know, right now each object of the game has a diferent item: For example, bob's mythic wand is a wooden slab. Now, they will only need a simple sword, only 1. Why? Well, the tag of durability can be changed now, a wooden sword of 64 hits is not the same as a 65 one, right?

Elytras can be an interesting thing, flying on the canyon of the lost with that won't be cool?

So, to sum up, 1.9 will be: AWSUM.

 

It took 7639836 Years to get to a playable 1.8 Version (thats not Wynncrafts fault but the whole 1.8 server versions took so long to develope) so I think we get 1.9 around the same time we get Dern/Fruma.

I'm not talking about features, I am talking about things that can not be changed.

Like you can choose to not use shields in the server.

You can't choose to disable off-hand

You choose if you want to use elytra or not

You can't choose if you want to disable the attack speed or not


I think you get my point

This is not about using 1.9, it's about being 1.9 available

 

Tbh the worst update ever is 1.9. I hate the new combat but everything else is awesome. I don't think Wynncraft would update for a long long time since like you said, it would affect gameplay.

 

Offhand can be disabled by forcing items back to WHENCE THEY CAME using plugins; you've probably already seen this in a few servers, including Wynncraft.

1.9's attack speed can be disabled with commands, or, in this case, plugins. This is because item attack speed is modifiable, and this being a server, they can probably modify your base (hands 'n' stuff) attack speed as well (though I haven't looked if base attack speed exists).

 

The glidy wing thing is going to trigger the anti fly hack so much.
Attack speeds will make attacks tiets easier to code.
We will have more weapon models.

But seeing how much time it took to update to 1.8 we will wait for a year or so.

The attack speeds are toggle able because they are applyable with commands. You can set the attack speed value to the 1.8 equivalent.

 

The boat changes are gonna be helpful, so thats not a problem.

Do we have any mobs in Wynn riding any other mobs? Cuz that also changed.

 

Wynn already stopped 1.7.

I hope they never update to 1.9, it just sucks... The off-hand is just horrible and it wouldn't add anything to wynncraft as they would have to redo a lot.

Perhaps there will be a protocol hack again, so 1.9 players can access but can't use any 1.9

 

They will probs wait with 1.9 until the follow up update and than start working on 1.9

 

I highly doubt that. What is more likely is that a couple of updates (mostly minor with lag/bug fixes) and some major updates (A quest or two, new content, etc) will be released throughout the year. It is important to note that 1.9 changes a lot, and an update like that can potentially destroy a server if not careful.

If I were to make a guess, I would say in maybe a year's time with our current situation. However, factors and variables change, so for all we know (Though highly unlikely), Wynncraft would be 1.9 compatible by next month.
