Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra jumps up from her sleep.
"Wings? Could I fly on my own then?!"
"You already can. How the hell does your brain work?"
"What's a-"
"DON'T QUESTION IT."
"Fine."
"She's already powerful. Give her a break, she just needs more time to master her abilities."
"Wait, what?"
"Go back to sleep."
She just kind of... falls over.

"Welcome to what her mother puts up with. I don't know how either of them do it. As for the deity thing, I'll explain when she's not here."

 

"Heh, well, who says you can't be more powerful? I'm sure I could help her master her abilities, what with the syncing and such. I mean, if that's alright with you." I say, glancing over at Ihra.

"Did I mention that, with the empowerment, I could give her a whole lot more energy? Since our bodies would be synced, she'd gain my kind of endurance, so she'd most likely be able to do a lot more without needing to rest as much." I say cheerily, "It's come in helpful for my...how shall I say, 'Mortal', as he can endure a lot without the restrictions of his mortal body stopping him."

 

"She exhausted hersef because of you. She can keep going for a decently long time otherwise. Furthermore, I have a feeling you'd get something out of it too."

 

"I doubt I could take anything from her without seriously hurting her" I say honestly, "Surely you can see my good intentions here? The last thing I want is quality time with her mother."

I put my gauntleted hands behind my back in an innocent way, summoning the small wooden Golem from before in them.

 

"Her father can be just as bad. He uses no magic, but he taught her everything he knew about combat with a battleaxe. The thing's as big as she is and I can safely say she'd kick my ass in a world without magic."
I look at the golem.
"Good intention or not, give her time. We don't know how these early years go; we're usually kept in stasis and get spoon-fed knowledge from those who work with the genetics. This whole development thing's new to all of us."

 

"Her parents sound delightful, when can I meet them?" I say sarcastically.

I place the small wooden Golem on the ground in front of me. "If you need more proof of my good intentions..." I say.

I focus my two gauntlets on the Golem, they and the Golem start to glow green. Suddenly, the Golem grows; first to half my size, then my size, then double it. The once innocent small Golem is now an intimidatingly large one. The Golem has thorns around it's arms, legs and torso, and wields a large wooden bow.

I look up at the Golem and say "Protect Ihra" in a commanding tone. The Golem lumbers over to where Ihra lies.

"We shouldn't stay here for more than we need to." I say with a serious tone.

 

"Vesius, sometimes you're an idiot."
"Ah hell..." I move next to Ihra.
"Why won't you accept help when it's given? I'll take it since you won't..."
A crossbow bolt hits the golem, then absorbs it. Two more form next to another draconian who has his back turned to you.
"Stack the deck, huh? Nah, that's my thing."
He vanishes.
"Damnit! Please tell me those things aren't tough to kill!"

The two golems move towards the group, bows drawn and aimed at Ihra.

 

I suddenly disappear and reappear in front of Ihra, facing the Golems.
"Ihra, I need you to trust me, and believe I want to help you with what I'm going to do, alright?" I say, staring at the two Golems.

"This will be like your first lesson in how I can help you."

 

I redirect the light from Ihra and the golems, attempting to make them see eachother as Ihra. The illusion requires total concentration, however, to the point where I am unable to move my body.

 

She crawls to her feet.
"What do I have to do for a nap?"
She grabs her staff, then notices the two golems.
"Ah. This'll be quick."
She spins her staff and taps the ground. A barrier forms around her that when the arrows fly, they're absorbed by the barrier.
The bows also disintegrate.
"Okay, so how're you getting me to do this?"
I step back and chuckle.
"Might want to let her have her fun, AJ."

The trick works, and they turn towards each other in a hostile manner.

 

"Well, if she's going to have her fun, I might as well have my fun, eh?" I say with a slight evil tone.

I possess one of the 2 Golems, it's body turning darker and it's eyes glowing red as I do so. I start making it smash its own head in with great force; from inside the Golem, you can just about hear "Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!"

 

"That's just... real mature, you." I laugh.

Ihra runs at the second. The edges of her staff release axe blades in the shape of a dragon's wings.
"My turn!"
With a leap, Ihra uses her axe's weight to throw herself around midair. She cuts the arms and three pieces of the chest off before landing.

...Then goes back for another strike, straight up the golem's back.

"I can hold my own!" She yells at me, clearly irritated.

 

Using my Nature Gauntlets, I re-form the Golem's wooden hands into blades and start stabbing it in the chest rapidly. Sawdust is flying everywhere at this point.

"Saw sorry to do this to you!" I quip as I cut away at the Golem from within.

"Hey Ihra, this is probably going to be the only time I ask you this, but come hit me at full force!" I say from within the Golem.

 

Her axe reverts back into a staff.
"Okay then...

...Bye."

The golem collapses before vanishing entirely.

 

I jump from the remains of the defeated Golem, landing down softly with black, dragon-like wings extending from my back.

"Who the hell where those two and what did they want with Ihra!?" I say, trying to calm my anger.

 

"Welcome to our opposition. Those golems were summoned by Nyre, who is now able to summon as many of those as he pleases. If he catches you doing something he likes, he'll try to copy it. That's his big threat; he can copy almost anything, then use it as he pleases with no cost to his energy pool. He's got three comrades. Uhm... I'm... particularly close... to one of them."
I look at my locket.
"As in this isn't my locket. It's my twin sister's. Or, more specifically, it's both of ours."

"They want to kill me!" Ihra whines.
"They've been trying to kill us for... well... longer than we've been alive."

 

"Hmph, so we have 3 giant [Censored - Oh my!] trying to kill Ihra, one of which can't be bothered to think for himself so steals others ideas?" I say angrily, "Well, we're going to need some protection with less copying potential"

I put both hands out in front of me, and a dark aura begins to form. A figure appears in the darkness and clanks to the ground. A crystalline Golem, slightly larger than I, stands in front of me awaiting command.

"Protect Ihra" I command. "Eeh-Rah? Pro-tekt Eeh-Rah?" it responds with a rocky voice. I point towards Ihra "Protect her, and make sure nobody sneaks up on her," I boom to the Golem. Pointing to the party, I say "These are friends, make sure they do not come to harm either; but protect Ihra above all."

The Crystal Golem looks over at Ihra and says "Eeh-Rah? Pro-tekt Eeh-Rah." The Golem wanders toward Ihra and, and says "Eeh-Rah. Pro-tekt."

"He shouldn't be able to be captured like those others now I've set him with those commands," I say with certainty. "He's a strong Golem, and smarter than the others."

 

"How does he copy other's abilities? What if I, say, disguise all of ours so he has nothing he can see? Or is he actually able to sense magical ripples in the Etherum?"

OOC: The Etherum is the magical 'film' covering the world, manipulated using mana. People with magical backgrounds know this, as it is an elementary concept of magic.

 

"Good, that'll at least buy her a second to charge Radiant. Side note, you seem to be skilled with golemancy."
"Is... is it supposed to be following me?" Ihra looks at it nervously.

"I don't know. If he can't see it, that probably won't stop him. Also, it would be beneficial to you living if you were able to move."

 

"Heh, I wish," I say in a light tone, "The girl I love is the one skilled at Golemancy, many a time has she given me one of her created Golems to use. I'm simply taking them from a pocket dimension with the Realm of Shadows where a lot of my stuff is stored."

The Crystal Golem is intent on staying close to Ihra. "Pro-Tekt, Eeh-Rah" it says in it's rocky tone.

I sit down and meditate, putting myself into a trance.
