Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I say to the Chief Guard, "Hmm... well, the prison does look a bit sinister. Maybe have a desk and two chairs in the interrogation room and have it cleaned regularly. That way, the people there will feel a bit more comfortable. Maybe then have another room for chaining people to walls in if that doesn't work, but at least the people who are going to answer you as soon as you want them to might do that. As for the underground cells... they should be kept how they are. But maybe make the first floor of cells, the one right below the ground floor, be more comfortable and have a lot more light. And put the new prisoners there until you bring them to the interrogation room. After that, put them in the lower, darker cells."

I then say to Aria, "Kai's alright. I saw him before we came here and he was fine. He might be worried about you, though."
I say to Rina, "Well, trespassing on people's property is one thing which is against the laws of many of the northern kingdoms. And in the Darklands, since my kingdom is more secretive than the rest, then it is more serious than other kingdoms. Maybe chaining her to a wall and threatening her with a sword was a bit too much though. And if there is a next time, at least they won't do the same thing to Aria. They know what happens if you do that to Aria now."

 

"We can discuss this on our way back. Do you still wish to meet with our mother?"

"Drop me off at the coast, Rina. I've... uh... had enough of the land for now."
"Got it."

"Master, should we go now, or is there other matters to tend to?"

Claire lands in front of the sisters.

 

I teleport right in front of the healer, glaring. "What. Do you think. You're doing?" I hiss

 

"It only has a pulse. No breathing. Does four days of no breathing and a slowing pulse not imply death?"

 

"Does burning you alive imply death? If it has a pulse, it's still alive. Make sure his airways are clear. You are not to simply give up."

 

"Y-yes, goddess..."

Pause.
"No clotting, blockage, and... even less of a pulse..."

 

"Only one other option then... Oh well."

I locate Ihra and teleport Vesius and I to her.

 

She shrieks.

...Then realizes who you are.
"Wh... What... Is he..."
She's tearing up.

 

"He isn't dead. Please, just heal him."

 

"Thank the stars..."
Her staff glows, and she holds it to my forehead.
"Empty vessels. Wing cut." She mutters.
I twitch, then inhale heavily.
She steps back.

"Hopefully that sacrificed nobody important."

I groan, then open my eyes.

 

"Thank you." I say to Ihra

 

"You're welcome! But, uh... What happened?"

 

"Oh uhm... I'm not entirely sure myself. Someone just kind of stabbed him in the back."

 

"Oh, great. And mother thinks I'm the fool..."

"Hh... Ihra? The hell am I?"
"Still here. No more Void for you for a while."
"Thank... Ugh... So tired..."
"Just get up."

The following noise is not pleasant.
"That... was not one of my prouder moments."

 

"I need to speak with the King first, then we'll go. There are some things I need to warn him about but I wanted to make sure that Aria was safe first."

 

"I'm bringing Aria back. Mother was getting concerned, Kai was restless."
The two climb on Claire's back.
"Got it. Master, would you rather I follow the sisters, or stay with you?"

 

"It's your choice. You can follow them if you want to or you could come to me with the King. Actually, you might want to go with them. Everyone seems to be suspicious of draconians right now, even if they are good."
I start walking back to the palace gates to where the guards are.

When I arrive at the palace gates, I say to the guards, "I need to speak to the King again to warn him of certain events."

 

"As you wish. Though, I... uh... Please keep this crystal safe. I..." Xephyr shudders as she hands you a locket with a deep blue crystal. It seems to shake with her.

"Claire, let's go. Xephyr, you want a ride, or are you okay to fly?"
"I... I could use a rest."

The trio fly off.

The guards part again.
"I think he wanted to ask something of you as well..."
They bow as you pass.

 

I continue along the bridge and into the throne room again.

 

The king is expecting you this time, it seems. He stands in the doorway.

"Eras... Rina, did you call her? And her sister... How have we not heard of their nation? Their language is ancient..."
