Dern Is A Realm

Welcome to the thread where I attempt to convince you guys that Dern is actually a realm.

Lets begin with why do we care? Well we kind of said at this point that Dern, WE, Ancients, and the Eye are gonna be a huge part in The Grand Theory (Bob and Nilrem also fitting in, but not important right now). So a few days ago I made a little catalog thread about the Ancients. It really shocked me when I found out that we were not all in agreement about Dern being a realm.

Now there are other details that support this, but in order to not make things confusing, I will explain it using the bare minimum possible. And before you say any of this is "just coincidence", you forget one thing. The devs always have a plan.

Without further adu (I probs spelled that wrong), lets begin!

Step 1: Linking "The Eye" to The Ancients

So, the eye. We know already Wynn Excavation worship the eye. The fact that we learn about the Ancients in Wynn Excavation should be enough linkage, but since you guys clearly have stated that you like really clear connections, lets make this a bit clearer.

In the ancient city in the underground area of that one house (you know what I am talking about) there is a mural of the eye, as well as signs talking about it.

Step 2: Linking The Ancients To Dern

We know from various sources (In-game, and via Grian himself) that Dern is a place of Darkness. Anyone arguing with this, sorry, but you are legit stupid. If you did not know this, that's fine. But saying that fact is false is stupid.

Anyway, signs in the same area linking The Ancients to The Eye also talk about Darkness. One we have been talking about the most reads "It's not Darkness, it's ****"

But anyway, our common assumption (as I community I hope) is that the Ancients have come to Wynn running away from something (The Eye) in dern. But anyway, Darkness. There is that.

Step 3: Linking The Eye to Dern

This is really one of this A=B and B=C so A=C moments. The Eye is linked to ancients who are linked to Dern. I am sure that there are clearer connections, but I hope this will do.

Step 4: Linking The Eye Of Blood to The Ancients and The Eye

The eye of blood form Eye Of The Storm is a super like powerful magic Eye thing that is used to summon a demon (who's name I can never spell). The eye of blood is said to come from the jungles of Wynn.

Some say "oh, they said the player's homeland. So that can be Fruma". Yes, it could be, but everywhere in Gavel everyone assumes the player is from Wynn. Plus we don't even know if Fruma has a jungle. Anyway, lets assume it's the jungles of Wynn.

Who do we know lives in the jungle? Who lives in the jungle who we have already connected to one thing with the word "eye"? The ancients.

Really the fact that "the eye of blood" has the word "eye" in it should be enough, but whatevs.

Step 5: Connecting "The Eye Of Blood" to Dern

We already connected the eye of blood to "the eye" and the ancients. And we connected those two to Dern. I think it's pretty safe to say that the eye of blood is dernic (yes, Dernic. Not Dernian).

Step 6: Connecting the demon to Dern

Well the eye of blood is used to summon a demon. And we already said the eye of blood is connected to Dern. I think its pretty safe to say the demon is being summoned from Dern.

Step 7: The Final Stretch

We still have not said that dern is a realm. Well, in the quest "eye of the storm" we are told the demon is being summoned from the realm of shadow.

Shadows are dark, Dern is dark, pretty clear connection. Now, its not just the land of shadow or province of shadow. ITS REALM OF SHADOW.

REALM.

So come on, linkage after linkage after linkage, we are here. All the evidence says the eye of blood is connected to Dern, so the thing it summons is from dern. the thing it summons is from a realm, so OH MY GOSH! Dern is a realm!

Ok, so final note.

I understand some of you do not agree. And that's fine! I would love to have a mature debate about this! BUT HEAR THIS FIRST. Please do not just argue that I am wrong just cuz one of the steps might not be the clearest connection. Look at the big picture. Please.

So there is one more piece of info showing that Dern is a realm, but did not fit into the thought process above. So I am putting them in this section.

I believe that the place you go to in Fantastic Voyage is Dern.

Anyway, you go into and out of the dark area (Dern) through portals. The only legit portals we see take us into the realm of light and the realm of corruption (nether)

So portals = realms?

Plus, the portal structure looks SUPER similar to the portal for the realm of light. So yeah...

Plus in the area are "otherworldly inhabitants". Other world? Sounds like a realm. Again.

So yeah, feel free to comment. Yeah!

Convinced. Although, Dern might once have been a province, but with all the darknes, it slowly faded away and became a realm, only accessible with a special portal.

Not that this has anything to do with anything, but there is a level 29 Rare neutral + Thunder damage spear called "Dern's Desolation." I don't know if this confirms anything, and it may as well be useless information for all I know. But the weapon does exist, and I believe that Dern is indeed a realm.

 

There's no need to be rude about it. If it's a fact, link to the source and don't just go "you're stupid if you disagree" Some people don't believe information until they read the source material. And even if they do disagree with what's a fact, there's no need to call them stupid. Some people might just interpret it differently.

 

i agree BECAUSE remember the lastest christmas quest? well it said 3 Provinces but we know about wynn gavel, and maybe fruma but what about dern?










REALM

 

We already looked at the items linked to Dern, and a possible new force called "Desolation". I covered the whole Desolation thing in a thread I made a few weeks ago.

And my mind is still going, "Realm? Province? Realm? Province? Realm? Province? Realm? Province?", and you get the idea.

 

This got me thinking, what actually 'defines' a realm?
You said you enter the place of fantastic voyage through a portal, just like the nether and the realm of light and therefor you think it's a realm.

Would that mean that Wynn itself is a realm? (Talking about all the provinces combined, not just the province Wynn, this would include Gavel and any provinces added in the future.)

Since whenever you try to leave the nether you can go through a portal to enter Wynn.

But if you try to get out of the realm of light you just walk into a 'coalhole' 'shortcut' 'teleport-thing' (Whatever you wanna call it. I think you know what I mean.) to get back into Gavel

Than again, it's possible to acces the nether from a sign in the lobby. Which'd mean that it's possible to enter other realms with methods that aren't portals.
Talking about the lobby, can't you enter the wynncraft servers by going through a portal?

That's actually a really good question for the logic. The way I see it is that it works like this:

The coal tp things are used whenever two rooms in-game should be next to each other, but reality-wise can't be

Lobby does not count

I feel like Wynn/Gavel/Fruma is the "main world". And realms are on different layers of reality. Different dimensions if you will. So the main world of Wynncraft is the "world", and the neather and realm of light and dern and deaths realm and heaven (Where you fight bob) and Amadel's realm (I was told this was a different realm Amadel made for himself in his final form) are all different mini-worlds, different dimensions. I believe that would be what classifies as a realm verses a normal world

 

Of course Wynn is a realm, realms are just different plans of existence linked by portals, so if a portal links Wynn to the Nether, it likewise connects the Nether to Wynn

 

Yes there are coincidences in this game. Builders add shit they feel is cool, GMs are largely pretty unregulated and the Content Team hasn't been told the main story

But then you come to, I think, which is just your assumption. I personally think that some of them are. Neither of us can prove it, so in the end neither is very solid, but its MORE likely its a province basing off what we know of the landmasses

 

You are right, neither of us can prove it. But I think I explained my thought process pretty well, don't you think? I may not be able to prove it 100%, but it's a start.

I argue with this. We don;t know anything of Dern's landmass. So we can't compare it to that of Wynn or Gave. If we knew some type of geography we could compare and see if it's closer to Wynn/Gavel or to RoL/Nether. I would argue you can't say "more likely". Especially if you don't make concrete statements.

If you can find info to back up your claim, I would love to hear it.

(And before someone says that hes a GM so he knows best, he legit said GMs don't know very much about the storyline as a whole)

I disagree, in the Llevigar library thing, it shows the provinces, and Dern is listed in there. The fact is, if Dern were a realm, then an update would ruin what Wynn currently has, 1 province, one realm. Now let's be honest, not to be rude, but so far, I've seen proof that there's half a billion shadow realms, so it would be logical if Dern had a portal to the realm of shadow
