Except that entire argument is based off that the dark place is dern, which just isnt 100% confimed

 

Dark place is purple and black, same color scheme as the Dern beasts and Dern minions on Dead/Alive island (and Bob's weapons in the old bob lore. If you want to believe the bob is dernic theory)

Dern is confirmed to be dark, and the dark place has mobs specificly called dark skeletal warriors, and mobs called disappearing shadows. Shadows are dark.

The place has endermen mobs (so far most [not all but most] of the endermen we have seen we were able to link to Dern) called otherworldly inhabitants, strengthening both the "the place is dern" and the "the place is a realm" arguments. (endermen for dern, otherworldly for realm)

Honestly more evidence points towards it being dern than not...

 

We don't because that type of magic isn't native to the Wynn province. Usually you just have an indent made of coal blocks that tps you to represent a cave

 

If the magic is not native to Wynn, lets take a look at Gavel.

The only place we have a portal is to the realm of light.

 

All non-native provinces aren't the same... In fact, Dern and Gavel are complete opposites.

You're saying if that dark place with the portal is a province then Gavel, which is also a province, should have portals too.

 

That's the opposite of what I am saying.

My whole point is that it's not a province, it's a realm.

But honestly ad this point I am rather done with this. Is it being a province or a realm really that important for the purpose of the thread? The purpose is to put together what we know about the ancients.

Can we just agree the Ancients came because they were running from something in Dern and they used some power (probobly the crystals) in order to escape?

 

I believe the point they are trying to state is that while all Realms must be reached by portals, not all portals lead to Realms. An example would be the planned (but unimplemented) portal that was originally designed to connect Detlas to Cinfras, located in the basement of a Cinfras house (That weird one that seemingly has no purpose yet is clearly important-looking).

Another example would be the beacon teleporters in the Karoc Quarry quest right outside the Quarton robot thing's room.

Yet another example would be the teleporter under the Green Crystal in Wynn Ex D that leads to the city of the Ancients.

While those last two are not explicitly portals, the technology/magic could easily be harnessed to create an intra-realm portal. For all we know, there is an unbreakable seal around Dern (created by Bob maybe) which no creature can physically traverse through, requiring teleportation to the province.

Have you wondered why the Eye beast simple hasn't burrowed its way into Wynn/Gavel directly? The problem is that it likely cannot reach us unless we open a portal going to it. In all likelihood, Dern is physically adjacent to the other provinces, but has an impermeable barrier separating it.

Were I to flesh this out further into a full blown theory, I might suggest that when the miners in the Abandoned mines first found Dern, when the Ancients fled Dern, and when Bob's mother supposedly fled Dern to arrive in Ragni, Dern was still directly accessible. Then upon Bob's final visit to Dern to confront the Eye beast, he sealed the province with his very being to trap the monster inside.

 

That's actually not a bad theory.

And as for the cinfras house, I have heard of that but I could not find which house it is. Do you know the number?

 

One question @SPYROHAWK, has it actually been confirmed that the city of the ancients is in fact, not in Dern?

 

It's located in the jungle, which is in Wynn

I believe they were running from Dern, so they would not be living in Dern

 

Living in the jungle makes sense, but does it actually say that?
And who says they don't just want to run from Dern?
Edit: Does it say that the city is in the jungle and you weren't teleported or anything?

 

I have not done the quest, so I don't know for sure, but I do know this:

If it's the coal block teleporting things, assume where you end up supposed to be best to where you were. Like if you enter one in room A and exiting into room B, room B could be half way across the map, but game-wise room B is located next to room A

So I don't know if that's how it works in the ancient city, but if it is, that's that logic.

 

Good point, also you enter the ancient city 2 different ways, the first time thru, you tp with coal blocks, any other time, you probably enter by the teleporter, as @TwageTomato said.

The answer to the ancient city part: BOTH! ^-^
They use coal blocks to connect "adjacent" rooms, but to unlock where the ancient city is, you must first go through a series of of puzzles, at the end of which Amadel reveals himself to be the leader of Wynn Ex. When you complete that section and enter the ancient city for the first time, a teleporter back before the series of puzzles will become active and open to the player. This teleporter is located under the Green Crystal of powerful powers and will allow you to bypass the puzzles and head straight to the ancient city.
