Arachno-what?! Aka Hive Denizens

By now, most us of know that Gale's Tomb has been found in The Hive, in a cave, in the back wall of The Hive. Being ever so curious, I went to visit Gale's Tomb. There it is, the path to it guarded by a species of insect, the Hive Scuttler [Lv.80], and several types of spiders, which may be of one or more species; Hive Dronelings [Lv.79], Young Hive Drones [Lv.82], Hive Drones [Lv.82], and Rogue Hive Broodys [Lv.84]. These little beasts are all over The Hive, and the back-wall cave, where Gale's Tomb is to be found. Except for the sweet Rogue Hive Broodys. They choose to reside in the back cave, only. But, all of them just love, absolutely just love, you. They do. They love to run around you, following you everywhere. Just like sweet, little puppies. But with a difference. Unlike puppies that want to play with you, these little beasts prefer to chew on you, biting any player who dares to enter the cave and follow the tunnels. Except for the Rogue Hive Broodys. They don't want to bite you. No, not at all. They really don't. They just want you to hold their spirits. They toss their spirits at you, a slightly ghostly image of themselves. For you to hold. To keep their spirits warm and cozy, while they suck the life right out of you. Why? Why did some dastardly GMs and builders do this? Do they have arachnophilia? I've never been afraid of spiders. But after taking a nice hike up to Gale's Tomb, I might have developed arachnophobia!

The little monsters in their natural habitat; hungry, aggressive, and running around, not posing for pictures, looking for a quick meal. YOU, the player, fit that bill of fare, quite nicely.

It seems to me, at least, that the presence of so many hostile mobs in the cave system in which lies Gale Nasin's tomb would be of some small interest. Further, I wasn't expecting a spider that throws it's own spirit at me. Did you?

 

I just imagine huge spider legs suddenly erupting from one of those silverfishes as it becomes a young hive droneling...
