Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Xephyr looks at you solemnly.
"I can use part of Mistress Xlentia's power through this tome. It should be similar, to a degree, to both magics you describe."
She levitates the tome in front of her, closing her eyes. She too starts levitating, and a shadow copy of her begins moving around next to her.
It dispels after a few moments, and Xephyr returns to the ground, tome shut.

Vei smirks.
"You were betrayed, little more. Being played the fool is not doing the wrong thing, it's looking back upon things in hindsight."

 

To Xephyr, "Sort of similar... except that shift-cloning uses YOUR mass, which forms a version of you. Luckily, it isn't possible to make a shift-clone larger than you would be after making it, or Daras could just hide somewhere small while a clone of himself did everything he needed."

To Vei, "No, he can't create a singularity. As I said, his magic is more like dark arts, not like controlling darkness. Though it is certainly dark energy, he does not wield darkness."

I look at nothing in particular for a while.

"Yes, he did betray me. But at the same time, he was following my actions, only doing what I was doing, yet in his own way, just like his powers. After that, I cast him aside, but he wanted to me to accept him again, and the only ways he knew were those same dark ideas. So he continued, and eventually I was forced to stop him from destroying my own kingdom."

 

"Happens. One of the few heroes I forged a weapon for, Uthrail, turned on me and used the weapon to send an entire city into the earth. And even after I hid for ages, it doesn't change that it was entirely my fault. I would like to know how Daras isn't dead, though.

 

"As I said, he likely used shift-cloning. Even though the body was half as short at the time, it was impossible to tell. He does all sorts of alchemy with plants and ANY objects of magical importance he can get his hands on. I saw the possibility that he had drank some sort of potion which shrunk him around the time of the War of Ruin. I kept it in mind and when I couldn't find him anywhere, I decided that was what happened. But he must have planned the whole thing, in case the invasion attempt went wrong."

 

Vei rolls her eyes again.
"No, I mean would a singularity kill him? If cutting his head off works, I'm going with 'don't destroy another planet' as the response. Furthermore, how weak is he to light magic? I might be able to use Ihra as a makeshift bomb..."
"BOMB? WHERE?! I HATE FIREEEEE"
"No (crap, why did I say that out loud?!) Ihra, no. Just use the two spells I've been teaching you one after another. You'll be fine, and there won't be fire."
"...Oh. Sorry." Ihra looks a bit sheepish.

Xephyr looks worried.
"So we can't just keep killing clones, then."
"I could eat him."
"Ihra, how about we... uh... use a method that we know should work?"
Xephyr telepathically links to you.
"Would melting him work? Either way, we're NOT telling her..."

 

Wait, this is chat Rp... nvm. I thought it was gonna be in wynncraft :P

 

To Vei, "Oh... I guess it WOULD work, but at least there are plenty of other ways to kill him..."
"And it depends on how you use the magic. If the magic cuts off or destroys part of his body, at least he will be smaller. But you either have to stop him from breathing, destroy his whole body or cut off his head to kill him. Otherwise, he can just heal. If we fight him together, we will likely be able to kill him without anyone dying."
To Xephyr, out loud, "We could just keep killing clones actually. Eventually he would become very small, so small that we could just stand on him. But that would take a while, and first we would have to actually kill all of the clones."
To Ihra, "While eating him would kill him, he could either teleport away or he could use the chance to use one of his dark spells INSIDE you."
To Xephyr telepathically, "Yes, melting would work. Technically eating counts as melting... so we shouldn't tell her about that."

 

Telepathically, Xephyr groans.
"What she means by eating is snaring in vines and melting. With acid. She literally just snares stuff, spits on it, and absorbs the remains. It's creepy."

Vei laughs.
"He'll be easy. Getting to him's the hard part."

Ihra shoves her feet back into the ground, grinning.
"Better be awake. At least it's nice and warm here."

Xephyr looks around, then mutters, "If he was that small, Vei'd be the only one able to even land a hit on him. He could spellcast when we can hardly see him."

I just stand there, looking like I've been hit by a hammer.

 

Telepathically to Xephyr, I say, "That does sound a bit creepy actually..."

 

I pick it up, and gently carry it back to the entrance, to ask the two draconians if maybe they know what to do with it.

 

"Thought so."

Ihra looks at you.
"Well... What now?"

As you approach them again, they stop moving.

"What've you got there?" Tirai asks.

 

"It depends on what all of us want to do. I think finding Nyre should be our priority, like Reflet said. Nyre is the main immediate threat right now. The chances are that Daras might be there too. If that is the case, we will have to separate Nyre and Daras for as long as possible. It's bad enough having one person with magic like that but another with Daras' magic AND who knows how many abilities? I can imagine an army of half-sized Nyres right now..."

 

"Why would I make half sized clones of myself?"
"Right on cue, you sorry-"
"Now now, I was just trying to hear about this Daras freak. Sounds like... worthy prey."

Xephyr's link grows stronger.
"Ah hell... If he kills him, he'll know everything Daras ever did!"

 

To Xephyr, "At least Daras might hold him off for a while... and at least that might kill Daras. But then we would have the same problem, only with Nyre. And there are also things that Daras knows which I'm not letting Nyre have."
Out loud, I say, "Not sure, maybe you'd like to be half your usual size? Though there are none magical ways to do that..."

OOC: This might make events... interesting.

 

Nyre laughs.
"Half my size? Good thing I'm not required for The Ritual!"
Crossbow drawn, aimed at the ground.

Xephyr shatters the link, tome floating behind her, katar forming in her hands.
"one other thing" she mutters
Pause.
"...he knows I turned"

Plasma splashes against solid darkness as Xephyr leaps forward, seemingly propelled by two bracelets.

 

I prepare my dark aura, fly into the air and I am in the process of casting a spell when I stop.
My mind flashes back to Daras. I look up, and see something tiny just above me.
"I guessed you might be watching us... but I never thought you might use a shift-clone as a spy. I hope you have a plan for defeating Nyre. Because there are two, maybe three things you could die to if you don't."
I then fire a dark bolt at Nyre.

 

You catch him off guard, and a blue aura around his wing shatters.
"Ah, you're still here." Nyre mutters through grit teeth.

Xephyr has several shadow forms lunging at Nyre. You lose track of the real her.

Plasma sputters across the ground. Ihra retreats a fair distance. I back up and drag Thirteen with me.

 

"Of course I'm still here. Where do you think I would go?"

 

"I dunno. Save the girl you just met?"

Nyre surrounds himself with plasma, then backs up. Xephyr looks winded.

"Now now, 'Crystal Queen'... Mistress won't be happy when she hears about this..."
"No! You can't..."
"You're right. I can't... I will!"
"NO!!"

Nyre vanishes as his barrier collapses.

Xephyr falls to her knees, crying.

Ihra approaches her, looking worried but not sure what to do.

 

I stare in awe and confusion.
"... What... did he do?"
