Timed Out Error When Joining World

Hello,
Whenever I try to join the server, I can connect to the lobby just fine. But when I try to join a world, my game will freeze for about a minute, then I will time out. I've tried relaunching Minecraft, installing new versions of Java, restarting my computer, refreshing the server page and trying again(about 11 times in a row), trying to join worlds with the least amount of players, and even deleting the server and adding back on my list. I have been going at this for weeks, and whenever I ask someone in the lobby they suggest thing I've already tried. I know it isn't my internet connection because I can join the lobby and other servers. Please someone help me out, I've been wanting to play on this amazing server for a long time, and I hate that it refuses to work.

EDIT: I tried playing without the resource pack, and I was able to open my inventory and type in chat(but I was falling in the void and stuck), then I tried enabling the pack and the game froze again, so I think the resource pack has something to do with it.

 

Maybe you should allocate more RAM into Minecraft? You can modify your RAM by going to Edit Profile > Java Settings (Advanced) > JVM Arguments (check the box). Then, when you see -Xmx[number]G, that's where you can put in how many gigs you want Minecraft to use. I recommend using half of your system's gigs.
