Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I say quietly to Eras:
"Who is he?"

 

I whisper, "He's called Daras. As for who he is, let's just say he's a survivor from the War of Ruin, where the Lost Kingdom was destroyed."
Daras says, "You know, there is this funny thing about names. If someone says your name on the other side of a noisy room, then you can still hear it. Eras, can't you just tell him EXACTLY who I am?"
"You always had interesting tricks... I should have destroyed you when I had the chance. Instead, I watched as your city was destroyed. I pieced together the remains of your body just to make sure you were dead."
"The remains of ONE body. I didn't know if this would even work, but look at this: I'm alive countless years later and you think I'm dead."
"Yes, I guessed that was how you did this. But I can tell that your only form right now is you."

 

"Should I be drawing my sword?"
I whisper to Eras.

 

Ihra looks at him awkwardly.
"You don't sound very nice. Are you going to try to kill me?" Ihra's head is tilted to the side.
"Don't... You can't control that yet! You might seal Eras!" I panic.

 

Even though it is pointless, I whisper, "There isn't much point in fighting him. He always beat anyone in a fight with his daggers-"
"ONE dagger. You think I kept the other after it was lost in the war?"
"That never made any difference. You could fight just as well with only one."
"But I liked throwing one. Or giving it to a shift-clone."

OOC: What Ihra is doing sounds like someone I know... she does that exact thing every time you mention, "I killed something like a dragon which was attacking me first in MH4U/Wynncraft." and a dozen other things.

Daras says, "Sealed? Doesn't sound fun."
"Trust me, it isn't. If it's what I think it is, the seal thing might not end well for either of us."
"Such a shame... I wanted to cause some trouble... and take revenge."
He looks into the distance.
"But anyway, I'm going now. I wonder what Nyre will be like... probably quite fun. See you later!"
He flies into the air quickly and away from the group.

 

"I haven't eaten in a while." Ihra mumbles, shaking the dirt off her feet.
"Great, so it's like that legend, but not him... Crap." I throw my rapier at the ground, sheathe and all.

 

OOC: Xephyr is still here, right? Didn't she find the group or something?

I turn to Xephyr and say, "Oh yes, and the monster turned out to be friendly. And from a kingdom which nobody has ever heard of, except for Daras and those in the Lost Kingdom who helped him with... raiding..."
I look towards wherever he went.
"I destroyed an entire kingdom... for nothing..."

 

She looks at you, flustered.
"Guess I shouldn't take your people's word as willingly as I did..."

Us three draconians look at you in silence for a moment.
"You did what you had to do." It sounds like I'm trying to comfort you. It also sounds like I'm bad at that.

 

I say to Xephyr, "No, it WAS his body. There is a reason he's only half my size yet fully grown. He uses lots of different kinds of dark magic, and it seems that he this one to fake his death. But I wanted him dead after everything he had done."
"And the reason I destroyed that kingdom was him. But in my anger, I ordered everyone dead: Daras, his soldiers, innocent people alike. And now he's back in these lands, how many more kingdoms will be destroyed?"

 

"If it makes you feel better, his and your track record is nothing compared to Vei's." I mutter.

(In)Conveniently (for me), she uncloaks in front of us.
"Dozens of planets. Hundreds of immortals. See all these marks on my blades? I don't even have room to keep track of the ruin these blades have brought."
She glares at me before turning to you.
"We owe you our lives. If we can help, please let us known."
"Yeah! You're really nice, too!" Ihra cheers.
"Well... I'm not in a position to disagree." I snicker.
"Let this be my proof of purity." Xephyr whispers.

 

"If you will help... then I will let you. But I cannot kill him. I couldn't last time. That was when I changed to who I am now."
"But if we want to find him, then we should start by trying to find at least some of the other draconians first. Daras would want to find them. If I'm guessing correctly, he is ten times more dangerous than he used to be. Then, he had an entire people to command while he sat on his throne and all he ever did was raiding. Now, he wants revenge and there isn't much standing between him and domination... except the fact that he is on his own, other than the help of... certain abilities. He will likely try to side with Nyre, Feiha and the others."

 

"Nyre's top priority here. He's probably still murdering everyone in the kingdom..." I mutter

 

"Yes, Nyre still is. Because if we don't find Nyre and stop him before Daras does, then Daras will help him do even more damage. Not just that, but if Nyre clones Daras' spells, then we aren't going to stop either of them any time soon..."

 

"In what way are his daggers enchanted or enhanced?"
I whisper.

 

OOC: He left lol.

"They aren't enchanted, he is very powerful with dark magic. He also worked out for himself how to use daggers to great effect."

 

I smile.
"That's some good news."

 

Not really, a mortal couldn't defeat him in single combat. In fact, many Gods and demigods would not be able to. He is not only immortal himself, but he also drew upon the power of the Birthlake, which means that wounds heal. Though of course, since he is a demigod, he can be killed permanently if his head is cut off or if his body is completely destroyed."

 

"How about a singularity?" Vei rolls her eyes.

"Hooray, more problems. Maybe... Maybe I'll need to... You know..."
"Not yet, Vesius. Too many risks right now."

Xephyr looks at you, surprised.
"Dark magic? You mean he's... like... mistress...?" She appears to be overcome by horrific memories.

 

"No, I'm not saying it's good news that he can preform dark magic, I'm saying that it's good news that he's only skillful with his dagger."

 

"Only with his dagger? No, that is the only physical weapon he has. Then there's necromancy, mind control, shift-cloning, teleporting, all sorts of things. Very dark things."

OOC: Singularity is being strange, isn't it?

To Xephyr, I say, "I'm not sure what Xlentia was like, but by dark... it isn't like mine. My powers control darkness, keep it how it should be. But Daras... he calls upon evil magic. Magic which is frowned upon, dangerous, both to the user and those around them."

To Vei, "Daras was... very ordinary once. Very ordinary... just like everyone in the Darklands. Happy, but slightly secretive. Once he was... outcast, I helped him start the Lost Kingdom, and there he was similar, but slightly tired with what he had seen, the hardships he had faced. I don't know why he turned to raiding and dabbling in all sorts of dark arts. In the end, he claimed it in my name, I turned my back on him, and he started to be more cold. Now, he seems to have lost his sanity. He lost so much... that's why I still believe I did the wrong thing."
