Now I'm no expert or anything on theories or stuff, and this is a cool find, but I think I may have an insight onto what item(s) to throw in.
Notice that the tomb says:
"Rest In Peace forever, Gale Nasin.
Faithful"
"Faithful"
Maybe that gives us an indicator as to what to throw in?
I don't know; I don't even know half the items in the game, but maybe this helps a bit?

A rose! Find a flower which looks like a rose and throw it in!
Either that, or there is an item related to them with lore about them which isn't a legendary.

 

As many people have said before Ohm was a Golemmancer. There aren't that many golems that have drops, like the malfunctioning robot from an iron heart part 1 or even part 2. All we have to do is find the right item, I also doubt we would be expected to throw away a legendary every time just to open the tomb.

Well, people threw all sorts of things in and they disappeared, so a hopper has to be there.

Look at the lore of one of the Ohm's item, remember that he actually don't spawn and now you know ? Wait for him to spawn for drop this weapon and use this wand to open the tomb ! :)

So throwing stuff in won't work probably guys... maybe there's another switch that has to be activated when you throw an item, somewhere else?

Selvut has specifically said, on many occasions, that you do not need to use a legendary item.

However, he did say this:

At first i thought this meant that instead of the key being cruel to obtain, it was instead the location of the tomb that was unfair. Though as we now know that it is actually fairly easy to find, it must be that the key is actually a hard item to obtain, just not a legendary/mythic item.

Oh yeah, and it's not the Master Catalyst (from Qira) or the Air Catalyst X (from Gale's spirit)

 

My best bet is to get all the air catalysts and then throw them in.

If you look at the thread I made, you can see Ohm's lab which I think it is and you could see his staff/wand in there. One of my friends send me a picture of what it looks like on the inside

It is openable there's command block work underneath it.

 

this proves that either that is ohms lab OR someone actually knew his wish and he/she put ohms wish in gales tomb.
