Just a few things to point out.

What is one thing that both cities have as a prominate feature? The hourglass.

We know a Detlas was built at t-100 to t-60

We also know that the Selchar hourglass was built after t-30

In sister city, the whole point of the quest is to refill the hourglass, and to teach the player bout Selchar.

So we can probably assume one of the main things that was "inspired" by Selchar is the Detlas hourglass

So we know that during the building of Detlas they were inspired by the hourglass in Selchar.

The Selchar hour glass was built 100% after t-30

In the old lore with Detlas being built after t-10, it's a fine thing to supposed that was a proper timeline

But with the new lore where Detlas is built t-100 to t-60, it can not be right.

On a unrelated pint, Selchar also had an Inconcistancy in the old lore. Villagers come at t-10 and Selchar has villagers in it at t-30

The whole argument is if it's inconcistant or not. So your point number one is basically what we are arguing over

 

The only issue I have about Detlas not being finished is that the villagers are all about the money, almost leaving Wynn to die to the Corruption because they had no money (until one soldier accidentally dropped a bag of emeralds). If it involved money, I'm pretty sure the villagers wouldn't've stopped building. The founding building wasn't mysterious burned down, it was struck by lightning. And Selchar didn't have an hourglass when it was being built.

I think it was the fact the Staff messed up, hence the inconsistency. Tho, the source of inconsistency IMO is Sister City, but it could really be Detlas' Legacy, or Craftmas Chaos (and I think a mod or admin said it was CC, but that was a while ago).

 

You all forget the staff said that the craftmass chaos quest lore is incorrect.

 

But here, in the theory world, it's kill or be killed.

 

To add on, the villager lore itself needs tweaking, and its one of, if not the most, important lore, so what makes you think every other piece of lore will be right?

Yes, but that was like, 6 months ago at least, and still nothing's been done. Also, I wish I could cite that from somewhere for the OP, but I think it was lost in the forum wipes.

The villager lore for sure needs tweaking, (if I did my homework right, the Gavel and Villager lore we got is half done) but still.

 

Still the hourglass in detlas may have been inspired by the unfinished one in selchar.

Wiki descriptions are NOT 100% accurate unless you're refering to direct quotes from quests. (This was proven by @SPYROHAWK when he pointed out that the Wiki called Qira a human which was later fixed). Using the quest quote I mentioned earlier:

• Lil: Fortunately, Detlas was built based on an already existing city, named Selchar.

Based on a CITY not the hourglass. This means (as I said earlier) ALL of Detlas is based on ALL of Selchar (unless there is a mistake which is what we're pointing out).

 

Based doesn't mean copied which is what you are implying .
Definition of base : use (something specified) as the foundation or starting point for something.
And i'm obviously quoting quest dialogue which is correct 99.99% of the time unless there's a typo and they got 1 letter wrong or something.

 

if detlas is based on selchar they will take something more than just the hourglass, that's like me baking a cake and saying an omelet was my inspiration because it also has eggs in it.

Based means based, which he is implying. If we ever were to implying copying, we would've said copied. But we're saying based.

 

Okay , can we have an example of what else detlas based off of selchar , because that might help to prove this inconsistency .

To be honest if it weren't for sister city I don't think anyone would think the 2 had any relation since the layouts is completely different. One has the hourglass right in the center and the other has one off to the side.

 

I certainly wouldn't i know that much.
