    Hello Wynncraftians!

    Unknown.jpg

Today I am going to be talking about how your character has killed unnecessarily countless times.

(Now before I start, I'd like to mention that any decisions the main character makes in this theory are based on Name Tag colors, not personal interest. For example, if a mob has a red name tag, we will assume you kill it.)

So let's get into it! Now while doing the quest Aldorei Part II, (spoiler alert?) I found a piece of dialogue that was very interesting. In the final parts of the quest, Togak says,

"You should know, there are two sides to every coin. A different side to every story. You are like so many others, leading weapon first, head later. Instead of just running in and attempting to kill everything, listen to the other story for once."

    image.jpeg
And this is surprisingly very true. For instance, take the Phrumkins. In Light Forest, there are two types of Phrumkins: Phrumkin Gangsters and Phrumkin Pranksters. These mobs are both classified as hostile but name tags don't always tell the truth. It we take into account their names, the Phrumkin Gangster seems to be deserving of this Red Name Tag, but Phrumkin Pranksters seem to just be taking a joke too far... I mean these guys threw seeds at you and you classify them as hostile and attack them. For all we know, that is normal for their species. And you kill them, without knowing their side of the story...

    image.jpeg
Another instance where killing without hesitation occurs is with the Bandits. The Bandits can be found in numerous places around the Gavel Province. Although we clearly understand that their intentions are not pure, if your character has the power to apprehend the bandit instead of killing him, why doesn't he/she? And these aren't the only ones either! Don't even get me started on ToL trainers amirite?

Your character may help with killing evil monsters and saving the province, but when it comes down to it, he/she's a killer.

Before we leave, @NubUnderscore had more examples of our barbarism:

There's also the fact that the player murder some crazy kid's chicken, Cluckles, by misinterpreting the words: Take Care of Him, and in Shadow of the Beast, when the player hired to bring a back a man's escaped cows after a beast rampaged though his property, the player instead brings back their remains. There are also numerous instances for many other quests to prove this, but I'd rather leave it up to everyone else to find it as I don't feel like writing a huge wall of text. So basically, the players are the villager's personal killing machines?

You can find more about this theory in another thread: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/the-player-you-isnt-such-a-hero.96150/#post-1056092
But hey! That's just a theory! A theory that shouldn't be barraged by the endless possibilities that could prove this theory wrong because it's just that: a theory. And a theory is: "a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained".

What if "Killing" in this instance is actually just knocking them out (thus the reason that mobs will spawn back in). This makes sense for quests where you have to defeat a boss, and upon "killing" them, they immediately jump into dialogue with you.

Here's a thing that's happened throughout human history. If someone slaps you, slap them 50 times back. (Maybe not that much, but you get the idea.)

If we were to always be the good guy and sit down with every weaker zombie we killed and had a meaningful conversation about his whole life and backstory the game wouldn't be so fun would it?

I've gotta admit, this is one of the better theories I've ever read. But then again, this is also one of the questions I've asked myself ever since the original thread was made. There are so many examples of this, it really makes you wonder what the player's thinking. From the beginning the player does that don't exactly seem moral filled. He frees prisoners, and shamelessly kills cows. I don't think the player is on the side of light. But, I don't think he's walking toward the dark either. He's really walking the middle road. And by middle road, I mean tightrope. The player is not good or evil. He's done good and bad things. From our perspective it appears without reason. But, we're just controlling a character on a screen and will never know how he truly feels. I don't believe the player's a brute. But he certainly isn't angel. Of course, I'm also the guy who said Orcs are innocent, so I may just be crazy.

That jab at Spyro was very subtle as well.

No jabbing at @SPYROHAWK happened here. If anything I was supporting him, because I was saying how theories shouldn't be attacked relentlessly because they are just peoples' ideas and suggestions, not things to be destroyed just because they don't seem right to some people.

Just to clarify, I wasn't hating on @SPYROHAWK or @PillowPet nor am I against them in anyway. I was just playing around and didn't mean to offend anybody.
