Unscrambling Some Lore

Anyone want to help me unscramble some lore?

If you read the thread, the word unscramble is more literal than you might think

This is gonna sound more minecraft related than Wynn related, but I assure you, by the time you finish reading you will understand what I am trying to do.

Firstly.

You know that scrambled minecraft text? Does anyone know the official name of that? The best I could find was "Obfuscated" but that does not seem to be correct. If anyone knows the official name, that's step one.

Secondly.

I need to know if there are any online websites or whatever that can unscramble that text. I tried searching minecraft reading Obfuscated text and whatnot, but that only brings up how to read files (which I guess for modding are also called Obfuscated)

So I think the reason I am not able to find what I am looking for is because I do not have the answer to part one. If it's possible to make a resource pack in which that text is normal, that would also work.

Thirdly.

This last part is the reason I am putting this in the Wynncraft section, not the Minecraft section. I assume the way any online un-scramblers would do it would be by you uploading a video of the text, and then the machine works form there. Could someone get me a video of the scrambled lore on Bob's diary? Now you see why this is in the wynncraft section? You get the diary in the "from the bottom" quest, and the lore is scrambled. You also get rid of it in that quest. So I would need someone who has not started the quest just yet, or has not gotten rid of the book yet, to help me.

The other option is (since I am WAY to low of a level) if I can make a texture pack making the text non-scrambled, could someone download it, put it on top of the wynnpack, and send me a pic of the diary?

Theory time!:

So the theorist community was strong even before Gavel, and got stronger after Gavel. I believe this supposed to be a hats-off to theorists. The devs knew us theorists would try to figure it out. And upon figuring it out, we prove ourselves worthy.

It would be cool if the people who figured it out somehow got a readable copy of the diary, which contains all of bobs notes for his life and lore. But that would be giving the theorists too much...

 

The name should be "obfuscated."

There is no way to read obfuscated text without a way to look at the item's NBT data. Obfuscated text is done so that all characters that are marked as "obfuscated" will constantly cycle through all characters will the same width. While this could give something some hint as to what something says, there are many characters that match, so there are many combinations.

Ok, I'm going to be honest, the amount of times you spam these forums is absolutely unbelievable, just because you're a "theorist", does not give you the excuse to spam these forums all the time, a lot of people are getting irritated by it, and before you tell me you take "little breaks" on making threads, that's like if I made 10 threads a day, took a break making threads for a day, and expecting everyone to forgive me for making threads all the time

No no no, just because it has to do with one quest, it also does not give you the excuse to place this thread in the Wynncraft section, reading this thread, I see you have the motives to unscramble the Minecraft obfuscated, this thread seems more focused on Minecraft rather than Wynncraft, in fact, you could've just made a thread in the Minecraft section asking for ways to unscramble the text, and not fill up the Wynncraft section with more threads.
So please, be patient, and wait for the storyline to be released, why? Because all the current lore is OUTDATED, the current lore DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE, wait for the storyline to be released so we don't have to make theories on outdated lore anymore...

 

Listen. This is an honest thread with no reason for the hate you are giving. I try my hardest not to post too much at once so please man. I have been slowing down, like A LOT, so cut me some slack for once.

Now although this thread does focus more on general minecraft stuff, note the reason. The whole point of the thread was to get the resources I need to work on Wynn stuff. If you don't think that belongs in the Wynncraft section, then I am sorry, but you are mistaken.

For your third point, yes the current lore is outdated. And most everything lore-related from before Gavel is probobly wrong. But are you even listening to yourself? Bob's diary is from a GAVEL QUEST meaning any info we can get from it is not outdated, but up to date! And since, as you said, most other lore is old, its even more important to get new accurate lore.

You say wait for the main storyline to be released. Do you realize that won't be for a while? The next update was said to only have powders, and the next big update after that supposed to have lore and stuff.

So you expect me to just sit here and twiddle my thumbs for a few months? I am not going to pretend I am anything special. I am a guy who loves this game and the lore. So why is it such a crime to look into it when I realize there could be something to look into?

Uh... no. That's wrong - the lore still matters and is not "outdated" - and what, you want people to do what they like to do nothing? That's boring, man. This game is meant to be enjoyable - can't we have fun doing cool theories and stuff? Finding out the obfuscated text in Wynn? I don't see why you want to hate on this... and I just don't see how it can annoy you. :L

I apologize for this, if you've read my posts, you'll know I handle things very aggressively, and in this case, I attempted to shut down your attempts at the lore without proper handling, and instead, demanded that you stop making lore until a far away update was released, I realize you are trying to slow yourself down, and I respect that, just be sure your theories are logical and make sense before posting, have a fun day.

idk which quest from the bottem is, but if its the one in thanos, nevermind, but while your trading for items, you get a book called Bobs Diary and i thought it might be related to something

 

Yes, that is the item in question. The lore is in scrambled text, and I made this in hopes of someone knowing how to unscramble it

 

You used to be able to turn languages to Pirate and it would unobfuscate pretty much anything. I think that was patched and now the only way you could do it would be to download a custom language that doesn't have obfuscated.
Most people call it &k text or scrambled text and I think it's just the wiki that calls it obfuscated.
And I also think this should go in the Minecraft section.

 

We very rarely obfuscate anything that's actually important; most of the time it's just for aesthetics and to provide some sense of mystery, but there's usually nothing actually relevant under it. 9 times out of 10, that obfuscated text is actually just a placeholder like "weirdtexthere". I wouldn't get my hopes up about finding anything.

 

Yeah, you make the text by putting &k before it. I tried scrambled, I'll try searching &k text

I don't know of any texture packs that get rid of the text, not do I know how to find that area in the files to do it myself. That's why I came here.

And I see why you could argue this goes in that section, but the ultimate purpose is about Wynn

Maybe try posting less drastic theories once in a while? Like instead of "Ragni's King is part of The Eye and was the creator of Gavel, he also destroyed Dern", do something like "Worid is Enzan's Other Brother". Not that there's anything necessarily wrong about those, it's just you'd get better feedback if you stopped trying to create these huge, game changing threads about how the lore is wrong. People would appreciate a break.

 

I appreciate your feedback and take it into account. But once again, this is not even a theory! This is just me asking who knows if they can help me!

 

This isn't about the thread, it's about the people in the comments who are all fighting and how you can avoid that. Hence the "they don't want you to win".

 

It's not like everything's outdated, you know. Just a few things related to dates.
