Class Based Fighting Game

    So. I LOVE class based fighting games. Love Love Love Love Love them. So naturally, what do you do when you love something? You make it your own! So, I make class based fighting games!

    Now, I often come to a problem. There are only so many classes I can make before I run out of ideas. So, what classes do you think could fit into a class based fighting game? I am very good with command blocks, so I can make many things possible.

    I have made two so far, and I will try to use this for a third



    Here is some info:


    Minecraft 1.9

    No plugins, no mods, just command blocks.

    Arena suggestions also work.

    Try to make it detailed.

    I love the use of potion effects. So a class based around a certain effect is good.


    Assassin class:

    Speed buff and jump boost.

    Diamond sword leather armor.

    Off-hand diamond sword that buffs damage

    Negative armor values making the assassin take extra damage.

    Bread
    ------------------------

    Perhaps a maze for the arena? That way the ranged classes could shoot down hallways but the melee can trap people off at corners

    Perhaps a class that is like a ghost? It has no armor, but has a good sword and a bow. It is invisible but has smoke particles and is glowing?

    Super OP Bow

    Arrows

    Food

    Make a castle lol

    Lol make a invis class that does big dmg

    How about a mage type class? It has weak melee and weak armor, but can switch between different off-hand items to cast spells and switch potion effects.
    -Armor is a blue leather cap and blue leather boots with feather falling
    -Primary weapon is a stick with sharpness 1
    -Spells are separated into passive and active
    Passive spells provide a potion effect as long as they are in the offhand slot
    -Feather named "Phoenix Feather"- gives jump boost 4 when in offhand slot
    -Sugar named "Sugary Dust"- gives speed 2 when in offhand slot
    -Obsidian named "Earthen Skin"- gives resistance 2 when in offhand slot
    Active spells are not like passive spells. Active spells must be "cast". When you equip them to the offhand slot, the spell will cast once, but you must switch it out for something else and reequip it to cast it again (these spells also have cool-downs)
    -A fire charge named "Firebolt"- when cast, you shoot a moderately powerful ghast fireball in the direction you are looking (disable mob griefing)
    -A bone named "Mark of Death"- when cast, you fire an arrow that does 0 damage and gives weakness 1. 5 seconds later, a skeleton wearing black armor and holding a scythe (named "Death") will spawn on top of all player with weakness 1, attacking them for 3 seconds and hitting them pretty hard.
    -A string named "Wind Lift"- when cast all player within 5 blocks of you get levitation for 5 seconds before falling to the ground
    -A redstone dust named "Thunder's Wrath"- when cast, you spawn 3 invisible bats tht fly around for 5 seconds before getting struck by lightning, killing them and damaging nearby player
    -The mage's food is golden carrots

    Ooooh I like. I can do all that, I only have one tiny problem. I do not have the knowledge to shoot projectiles in the direction the player is looking. I know it is probobly a simple-to-do thing, but I don't know how. If you know how please do tell me.

    All together really good suggestion! I think this one will 10/10 be added.

    Ok so I did some poking around. It is NOT possible to have a fireball shoot in the direction you are looking when you are holding an item. It IS however possible to make one when you throw a snowball or shoot an arrow. Due to reasons.

    So I dont think I could do the Mark of Death one, but I could do the firebolt one given the fact we are throwing snowballs instead of holding an item

    (Btw the mark of death one sounds cooler as Marked For Death)

    All right, the firebolt can be done via a snowball. For balancing reasons, I suggest that mages only get one snowball every 20 seconds. Anyway, I came up with a rework for Mark of Death spell. Instead of a spell item, the mage will have a bow named MarkedForDeath's Bow (lol). Every 30 seconds, /testfor if the mage has an arrow of weakness in their inventory and if they don't, /give them one. Every 10 seconds, /testfor players with the weakness effect, and if it finds any player with weakness, spawn death on them and clear their weakness effect.

    EDIT: Also, I have more suggestions, if you want to to hear them.

    I don't know much about 1.9 but since I know the Elytra

    Name: Windshock Battlemage (or whatever you may want to call it)
    Description: A baby ender dragon. They, like their adult forms, have the ability to fly. While they aren't very strong, they easily have the ability to
    Item 1: Elytra - Gives the class the ability to fly, which would make fights interesting.
    Item 2: Punch II bow - Gives the class a ranged attack which deals high knockback.
    Item 3: 3 arrows - Minimises the amount of times the ranged attack can be used to 3 so that bows can't be spammed.
    Item 4: Splash Potion of Slowness II - Gives a slowness debuff in a drop attack. If you can get close to the enemy and use this, the ranged attacks will be easier to land, even if you are flying.
    Item 5: Iron Axe - Gives the class some melee damage, but only enough to make it playable, not enough for it to completely rely on melee combat.
    Passive 1: Armourskin - Has Resistance I throughout the game to give it at least some damage resistance.
    Passive 2: Hover - Has Jump Boost V so that they can just jump into the air and glide instead of having to find a high place.

    So basically, it can jump into the air and fly instantly, can cause lots of knockback with a limited long ranged attack, completely slow down an enemy with a medium ranged attack which is VERY limited, deals some damage with a melee ranged attack and takes 80% damage.

    I wanted to do this too, but I'm not very good with command blocks. My game was focused around the elytra and the jump effect. I went searching around for something like this and someone made a really cool elytra pvp map and I wanted to do something like that. One of my idea is kind of a cool trick I encountered.

    Class: Pyro Jumper (couldn't think of any other name)
    Flint and steel
    2-3 instant health pots
    leather boots red dye
    effect: jump 255
    optional: elytra wings (give it like 10 durability, or else this is way to op)

    Basically, you can jump like a normal player. When you light yourself on fire, you get launched up really high. You don't take fall damage too.
    The flint and steel can have sharpness or something. But the main damage is the fire.
    I can't decide if this is too op or underpowered.

    @SPYROHAWK I has more ideas...
    -First of all, a very small edit to my mage class, give it full leather armor (dyed blue) not just the helmet and boots.
    -Now to the actual new classes...
    This one is pretty simple...
    -Wields a diamond axe
    -Wears an iron helmet and boots, red leather chestplate, and red leather pants
    -Has an iron axe called "Battle Rage"- when held in the off hand, gives a powerful damage buff and effects you with speed 1 but will also poison you as long as you hold it
    -The berserker's choice of food is pork chops
    -This class wears full green dyed leather armor
    -They carry a bow called the "Hunter's Longbow" with knockback 2(to hit melee classes away from you)
    -They also get an end rod called "Ranger's Knife" with sharpness 2
    -Every 10 seconds, rangers get 3 of a random type of arrow
    -The ranger's choice of food is bread
    -The paladin wears an iron helmet, chain chestplate, chain pants, and leather boots
    -Has permanent slowness 1 (all that armor is heavy)
    -The paladin has an unbreakable sharpness 1 gold sword.
    -By default the paladin has a shield as their off hand item
    -They also have a brewing stand called the "Holy Symbol"- when held in the off hand, it gives you regeneration 2, but also gives regeneration 2 to all nearby enemies, so it can't really be used in combat
    -Divine Wrath- this ability is a little complex...
    Basically, the paladin has an invisible baby slime on their head named "Divine Presence". When the paladin kill this slime, a new slime spawns (also invisible) named "Divine Wrath". This slime will run a /execute command summoning lightning on all players outside of a 3 block radius around the slime. After this it kills itself. This ability is only usable once per round.
    -The paladin's choice of food is steak

    Instead of jump boots, when using elytra I usually give the class levitation potions

    I am not sure how exactly this works, but I would love to try it

    Sounds cool. I like the Lightning ability.

    The berserker one is interesting. A class I have a habit of using is a class that has no food, but gets saturation and strength upon hitting an opponent. This one reminds me of that.

    It's your choice, I forgot Levitation potions. Just wondering, does higher levitation mean that you go up quicker?

    Yes. And negative values make you go down, and the higher the negative value the quicker you go down (causing mega fall damage)

    Perhaps. I actually have not started yet cuz other things have gotten in the way. I made 2 so far but I have not like uploaded them to the forums or anything.

    I could try and out the links here.

    The first one is before the attack speed system for put in place, and has not arena. But it has 15 classes

    The second is much more up-to-date but only has 12 classes, and is a bit less balanced.

    They are both for 1.9

    Maybe we could collab to make the map? (I'm good at redstone etc, and you can host the server on aternos, it's free, so then we can do it)

    I used aternos to build V 2.0 with wakiklaki, so I can deifnetly do that. I am good with command blocks, what I would need the most help with would be building the arena. In 2.0 waki built the whole arena.

    So I don't have any plans for 3.0, but you will be on top of the list when I start
