+2 Tier Attack Speed Armor Is Acting Buggy

So, as a warrior going for a melee build, I was planning on using a Chest of Ineptitude to increase my dps. However, when I was testing the damage output with a +2 tier mummy's rag, I noticed that, though my attack speed did increase, I was only actually dealing damage once out of every three hits, the other two hits wouldn't deal damage at all. I was wondering if this was some kind of bug, if my MC is broken, or if it is just Salted trolling again.

Edit: To explain this a bit better, when using Alkatraz with +2 tiers (increasing it to slow speed) the animation is going at the same pace as a Bob's Spear (also slow speed) however, when testing with my bob's spear, it hit more times than my Alkatraz in the span of 10 seconds, even though they should be doing damage at the same speed. Its like the attack speed buff sped up the attack animation, but still kept the amount of hits I do the same.

 

The animation of the weapon doesn't match up with the amount of hits a mob receives. It's just a bug.

Yeah, attack speed doesn't work with melee but it does greatly increase spell damage.
