Dog Or Cat?

So I've noticed a lot of cat related topics, even cat people, on the forums. I decided to make this thread to ask:
Are you a Dog Person, or a Cat Person?
This is to gather the opinions of the many people of the forums, and see how many people like Cats or Dogs (or both).

Saying you like one does not mean you dislike the other (unless you do), to clear up any confusion.

I personally like Dogs more, since I have one as a pet. My dog has helped me through some tough times and has always made my days brighter when he comes barking to the door when I get home.

I don't want this to turn into a flame war. Try to be civil with your responses as to not trigger others, and don't respond in a childish manner if someone dislikes the one you like. Respect others opinions, please.

 

IMO, I like dogs. I have a dog, she is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGG


They are always running around, excited for, well, anything. Cats, in what I've seen/heard, just lay around, drink milk, repeat. Now that's not the case with all cats, but that's what I've heard from friends who own cats.

Dogs can cheer you up quickly. They can sense emotions (well mine does), and will try to cheer you up. They also have a great sense of smell, that's why there's attack dogs and stuff for police and military.

I'm rather fond of animals in general. But between the two, I might lean to cats more. They are capable of taking care of themselves a bit better than most. Which is a huge benefit when you're at work all day.

 

I'm a huge dog person! I have a dog, I'm not sure he counts as a dog, though. Or a he.

 

I'm allergic to cats IRL, what do you think I prefer?

I love animals, so I like both equally! But if you MADE me choose, I would choose dogs, since I have a dog, and I've never owned a cat in my life since my dad is allergic to them. However, I have been around cats before, and although I usually get used as a scratching post by them, I still really like them.

 

Cat and dog people can all agree that the weirdest person is bird people.

I've only had a dog. My parents are allergic, though if I could, I'd want a cat for the sake of saying I had both.

I like dogs because they (all the ones I had, at least) don't really care when you pet them and their "schedule" is predictable.

I like cats because they're generally smaller (I can't carry a 13 year-old lab), take care of themselves, and they usually choose somewhere other than a doorway to crash for the night.

I love them both, but unfortunately I can't be around a cat for too long due some sort of allergic reaction I have to them. At least I'm not allergic to my two adorable dogs though!

 

There's no such thing as Dogs. Doges are the cutest Doges I see in the world, they are big and fluffy, they bark loudly but idgaf, they can be playful also
