SPOILER Qira: Good Or Evil? Interesting Theory! :o

So while I was theorizing on Gale in the Gale and Ohms official thread, and looking at the Wynn News, I found an interesting spot.

This was posted by Selvut in the Soloing Qira News thread replying to pillow's use of the word "Evil" on Qira.



Then I thought: What if this means something about Qira that we didn't know?

So here comes the whole thing. Let's go.

Dialogue Analysis


First off, we're going to look at the quest dialogue for the end of the quest "The Hive".

Spoiler: Quest Dialogue

• Yansur: To beat Mistress... Masterful. Have we been cooped up in this Hive that long that our creations are outdated?
• Yansur: To be defeated by a human of Wynn.. Embarrassing. Well, here is your reward.
• Yansur: Mistress Qira was once called upon to help stop the decay of the forest.
• Yansur: With her boundless knowledge she surely would have cured it. But she declined.
• Yansur: She instead chose to create, obsessed with preparing for some sort of war.
• Yansur: Mistress never elaborated, but seemed like she knew something we didn’t. She always said the darkness was coming. But to have a human beat Mistress Qira herself, I don't think we stand a chance. Honour to you, warrior of Wynn.

As you can see, it doesn't sound like Qira is at all evil. She was called upon to stop the decay? That definitely sounds like a good person.

Let's look at the second dialogue line. "To be defeated by a human of Wynn.. Embarassing."
This means that Qira dislikes Wynn. There's something wrong with that. She's probably never been over there, so why does she dislike it? This has been solved. Humans are "bearded gorillas" while Villagers and Elves each have a bit of magic in them, and Qira is embarassed of being defeated by a hairy gorilla with no magic. This also shows that Qira is a powerful person, and no one has defeated her.

Now let's look at the line "She chose to create".

So now we know that Qira is a good person. So choosing to create? That is probably talking about her artificial monsters. But, why did she? "obsessed with preparing for some sort of war."

"Some sort" is not a normal war, in my opinion. It could be another war between Gavel and Dern, Light and Dark.

This leads me to say what I think Qira is. Qira is Life. Death is Death.

But what does "qira" mean?

According to the website Kabalarian Philosophy,

"The name qira creates a dual nature in that you can be very generous and understanding, but you can also be so candid in your expression that you create misunderstanding."

That leads me to talk about Gale. Or, more specifically, her spirit in the Hive.

The facts we have about Qira are here:

Gale fights for her.
She is preparing for a war.
She can stop the decay.
She is actually good. (SPECULATION)

So as the name "Qira" means above, Qira is generous and understanding. She must have promised Gale a tomb and protection for her loved ones like Ohms because she is so generous and understands how Gale loves Ohms. Then, in return, Gale fights for Qira. But, she is so candid in her expression that people call her "Evil" and "Dark". Just look at her boss arena! Her taste in art portrays that she may be evil. But as the name says above, her expression is so candid it causes misunderstanding.

As we were saying before, Death's tower, TOA, has ice corruption spikes around it, portraying he may or may not help the Corrupter of Worlds corrupt Wynn. Qira, as we know, can stop decay. So Qira's "war" may be her trying to stop corruption. This is why she dislikes Wynn. Because Death lives there.

Community Theories

After seeing what you guys came up with, I'm adding them here!

@Magnus1st has a theory on how Death is a fake Death and Qira is also fake.

He mentioned the the spider on the roof may be the REAL Qira, and that the Qira on the ground is a substitute. The spider on the roof seems to have the power to destroy "Qira" at any moment, and may be the real Qira. After all, it is called "The Hive", and when we say "Hive", we think of bugs and bees? That means that Death also has a substitute, which we see in the Tower of Ascension quest. We haven't seen the real Death yet.

Q: But her arena has cobwebs and gray and black blocks, wouldn't she be evil?
A: As I said, the name Qira means generous and understanding, but the expression is so candid it causes misunderstanding. She could have a room that makes us think she's evil, but she really isn't.

Questions

Q: Qira declined helping fight the decay. So isn't she evil?
A: Remember, the dialogue said she was preparing for war. She may not have had the time to help, since she was obsessed with helping in a war. EDIT: There was some talk in the comments, maybe she went insane from something. In my opinion, this could be how everything went downhill, with decay in Gavel.

Q: So if her mobs are artificial, is she really life?
A: Qira might not be the most powerful life force. She may help create life, but there could be bigger forces. This could also be the case with Death.

The Death in ToA is (Spoiler!) not the real one.
So she's obviously preparing a war against the fake death, gg.

You definitely bring up some interesting points. Now, I case you didn't know the text on Wynncraft's logo says, "War of the Realms." (It something like that) So, if she's preparing for some sort of war, what if she's not trying to declare war on ToA. What if she herself plans to join the war of light vs. dark? But on what side? She's preparing some sort of war, but what? Will she join light? Dark? A third party? Or maybe she plans to start her own. Anyways, that's just my rambling. Oh, and I forgot. About her not liking Wynn. It's probably just that she doesn't think very highly of it.

 

I find it interesting how none of you have LOOKED UP in Qira's arena.

I've heard it said that the hardest thing for a game maker to do, is to get the players to look up.

 

You gotta giant spider spewing out the Hive Drones. So Qira either created the spider there or the Spider is the true QIRA! jk jk. If Gale's tomb is in there I s2g. I didn't see anything else interesting there.

 

She ain't "good" or "evil". When it comes to war, there is very little good or evil, just side A or side B. She's just part of Side C.

 

Not sure if she dislikes Wynn or just doesn't like getting defeated. Also if Death in ToA isn't the real Death what's to say he wasn't just a challenge of strength like Qira? I mean it's called the Tower of Ascension not the Tower of Death.

we dont know if she is actually good , its a theory not a fact

for all we know she could have been nice ages ago and than get coruppted or something (explains why she dislikes wynn) which is the reason she didnt stop the decay and also she knew about some kind of war , probably between light and darkness but who said she is not preparing to join the darkness once it gets to gavel

 

In my opinion, she sounds more insane, not corrupt. As Yansur said (or whatever his name was), she kept saying "the darkness is rising". She may have gone insane with the news of the war, so she declined helping with decay.

I didn't say it WAS Hive VS ToA, that's an alternate possible war. It could have been Light VS Dark, but that was another possible thing, Life VS Death.

Just like I said about how Qira may not be the only life force, Death may not be the only one controlling the end of life.

I seriously doubt her tomb is there js

 

Gale's grave is not on or in the spider. But what other relevance might a creature such as that have? It seems to be strong enough to bat Qira away with a single swipe of a claw...and yet it remains docile.

maybe he met it as a shade of the spider? Red = fire maybe, and that was what qira was weak agasint, so maybe we have to go to an other area with a red spider? idk

 

This is a nice theory! The community needed some theories that weren't as far fetched as usual. Good job.
