A long time before humanity, a different race ruled the province of wynn. Tall, dark, pueple-eyed beings originating from the great mountains of Dern who moved to wynn. The first sentients. Most people refer to these strange creatures as Endermen or the Ancients, but few knew of their civilization. They built cities deep in the jungles and mountains, under ground, next to ocean, fire and sand, but it all came to an end. One day, a group of Enderman miners woke a great beast, the Juggernaut, which broke free and went on a killing spree across wynn. Thousands died. Only a few fled. Cities fell, kings died and the Enderman empire fell. Few lived to see the dawn of humanity, and almost none live to this day
    Almost

Marcus felt the fresh ocean air on his scarred skin as a blessing from the gods of Wynn. He was Nemract's best-known merchant, owning a small but agile sailboat that could go very quick indeed, and was renowned for his impeccable timing and reliability. He had sailed the oceans of wynn for as long as he can remember, and had been to Gavel and back. He was unnaturally tall, his skill the colour of ash and his eyes glowing purple. He knew what he was but fitted in perfectly with humans and villagers. Nemract was his home and always will be. He loved his job and his friends, and he was happy with his life. As he checked the cargo of his boat, there was a dull wooden bang as a boat rammed into the side of his ship. It was a rowboat, big enough for 4 men. Pirates. They were all villagers with large noses, and large bald foreheads. They gripped hooks and daggers and were ready to fight.

Marcus had seen pirates before, and fought them as well. He flipped the lid of his chest and drew a double-tipped thunder spear he had bought near Troms. He had been through worse than this. He punched the first boarding pirate in the jaw. He fell back into the boat as his 3 friends boarded. Marcus swent his spear sideways, the flat of the blade catching a pirate in the stomach. He flew into the mast of the boat and fell to the floor. He stabbed at the second pirate but he dodged, leaping up at him and swinging his knife. Marcus grabbed his arm before the knife made contact and hurled him up into the air. He fell into the sea beside the boat. He turned to face the third attacker, but a rope sailed past him. It missed Marcus but wrapped around the pirate's arm. A sudden tug of the rope swent the pirate off the deck of the ship. Marcus turned. Another ship, twice the size of his, had pulled up next to him. 3 people stood at the rails. One of them gripped the rope that the pirate was now disentangling himself from. All of them were armed and armoured.
"Ah, the merchant. We were looking for you." said the figure in the centre. He was human, and carried a short sword like the one used by assasins from Olux, with red and silver armour. His friend was blue skinned and looked like half fish and half human. The fishman was clad in heavy black mercenary's chainmail and had red fish fins on his arms and head. Marcus hoped they weren't red from bloodstains. The third was a villager, but oddly quite noble looking with white armour and a bow strapped across his back, and a short mage's staff gripped in his left hand.
"Get on the boat. That's an order" Growled fishman
"What if I don't? What keeps me from thinking you are pirates like them?" Asked Marcus
Fishman drew a massive spear, a huge metal arrow pulsing with magic.
"If I throw this, I don't need to aim. It will find it's target" he hissed
"You can have everything you own back. We only want to put your life in serious danger" muttered the human sarcastically
"Not from us, obviously" added the villager mage
"What am I even doing talking to you" asked Marcus
