Set items dropped by normal mobs are undyed. If you had a dyed set item before gavel it will stay dyed in gavel, for example dyed nether armour is still worth something

The ghost set is actually a muted purple color (unless it was changed, I haven't been to the merchant in a while). I've seen snow armor (white), but I've never heard of ice armor? Is that new?

What I do is throw everything on the ground out of the chest first so you don't potentially lose any items from the chest closing, then carefully go over each item in my inventory I know I can potentially throw out, and weigh the new items vs the old (for instance I'd rather keep a unique or rare lv92-96 ring over a rare wand or dagger for 92-96). I've dealt with full inventories for way longer than I'd like..

 

Step 1: get rid of any un-identifiable items. They don't give as large a profit.
Step 2: Replace Uniques for Rares.
Step 3: Cry
Step 4: ??? Just do the whole quest whenever your inventory is full
Step 5: I don't even know.

 

Personally I don't collect snail armor and collect only rares, legendaries, and mythics. Uniques are quite useless to me now.
