Lots Of Things Wrong

I just logged on today, and immediately I noticed that the texture pack wasn't loading. I switched the server on my server list to enabled texture packs, but now instead the pack loading screen just gets stuck at 100% and never finishes. So I decided to press esc to keep playing anyway.

All my spears are no longer shovels and have transformed into various blocks, and all my armor are leather skins. In addition to this, all of my gear is considered unidentified. I'm unable to use any of it, let alone tell what they are, and I was getting repeatedly killed. It keeps telling me to identify them but I have no idea how to do this.

Please help, I'm also getting extreme spam in chat telling me to turn on my texture pack. I want to play on this server but it is making it hard.

I'm a level 40 warrior but level 12 zombies were killing me.

 

The only way to play is if the resource pack is turned on.
Make sure you have no other texture packs turned on.

 

So first of all, I'm not quite sure how you are level 40 and don't know how to identify stuff, but I'll tell you anyways. In most major cities there will be an NPC called an "Item Identifier." If you give your weapon and some emeralds to him, he will unlock the power in it and enable you to use it. As for the resource pack, you are getting chat spam because the game knows you don't have the resource pack on. Make sure you have resource packs enabled. If that doesn't work then there are multiple threads explaining how to download the resource pack manually, although you will still have to deal with the chat spam.

 

He KNOWS how to identify, he's just asking WHY the texture pack isn't work AT ALL.

 

I know what Item Identifiers are, but what I'm talking about isn't upgrading my items, its that all my items say "Unidentified Item" and I can't use them. I'm also stuck in a town called Maltic and can't get out because I keep getting killed.

 

Yes... you put unidentified items in the ider to be able to use them. I'm assuming that you havent played since gavel. Iding is no longer buffing, it is required to distinguish and use items

 

OK, thanks guys, texture pack still not working but I've managed to identify some items again.
