When I went into the portals I thought I would see Dern, but I didn't

But hey! atleast I have all the quests finished! :)

People have been claiming that actually IS Dern, but I don't see any proof. Besides, Dern isn't actually another world afaik, so why would it have Otherworldly Inhabitants?

 

Actually, an admin (I think Grian) recently said that Dern wasn't like the other provinces on one of @SPYROHAWK 's theories. Doesn't mean that it definitely is another realm, but it is a dark place and the place in the quest could be somehow linked to Dern.

 

Still, if it's not another world why is there nothing but aliens?

It is widely accepted that that black and purple place is in fact Dern. I have covered it in several threads including ones on Bob, Nilrem, Dern, and more.

The way I prefer to look at Dern is in terms to shape,size, cities, ect is basically a province. But storyline wise, lore wise, it it not. Considering how the enemies are otherworldly inhabitants fits with the far off dark land theme. So do the dark skeletal Knights

Alien can mean a creature from somewhere else in space, AKA another world. I know it's not that great a correlation but I can't be bothered to type out the whole name.

 

Ah, true. Tho, I think there's a better word to use than aliens, due to meteors and stuff coming from outer space.

 

Alien specifies a creature.

 

No, I there may or may not be extraterrestrial life already in Wynn/Gavel, so using alien to describe a group of out-of-country beings wouldn't be the best as aliens are seen as people from outer space.
