Why Isn't Wynn More Popular Than Mineplex?

I have wondered this for a while. Wynncraft has a huge map all filled with detail and loaded with a sh*t ton of plugins and includes a sh*t ton of weapons, armour and custom items, plus shopkeepers and tons and tons more stuff that took years to make, while Mineplex has bad maps and a bad spawn, plus they copy ideas. I guess they have some good plugins and it can be a bit fun, but still when you look at it like this, Wynn will wynn (sorry for the bad pun) by far. I think Wynn should have an average of 40000 players like Mineplex, and I don't understand how the best minecraft server (in my opinion) has only like 2% as much average population as a server that just isn't that good.

 

Because @Cubie keeps crashing Wynncraft.

 

8 year olds don't have an attention span long enough to care about wynncraft.

I mean, look at their staff.

 

The reason is vey simple.
Wynncraft is a RPG while Mineplex is a minigame server, even tho Wynncraft managed to pull it off pretty good, RPGs does not fit Minecraft that great while minigames fits Minecraft really good.
Also the majortiy of Minecraft's playerbase are less than 15 years old. Most people at that age does not like RPGs because they're slow pasted.

Mineplex have also been visited by many huge Minecraft youtubers. The only huge youtuber(that I know) that ever have visited Wynncraft is the Inthelittlewood guy.


Also your poll is stupid. You cant compare minigames with an RPG on wich one is "better".

 

Why?

Because Mineplex is a crappy server made to attract newbies to minecraft and to spend their parents money on their crappy server with bad staff, and a trashy community. Also Mineplex is a cesspool for hackers and people who have no talent in a game made with blocks. Also Wynn isn't pay to Wynn (get it?) while Mineplex is. All around Wynn is more of an older teen themed server (look at some of the quests, like Iron Heart part 2) while Mineplex is kid friendly, then again kids shouldn't be on the internet

 

Lol, the oldest kid is like 16.

Seblind summed it up rather well. Think of it as the reason mobile games are so popular.
Wynncraft is an RPG. RPGs demand a huge time invested to really get into them whereas with minigames you can play a few rounds, have some fun and get off. In other words, minigames are good for being able to immediately jump into the game and kill some time.

 

There are several reasons attributing to this:

1. Mineplex is a minigame server, which boasts a large variety of different gamemodes. Many tastes are suited to, unlike WynnCraft, which mostly appeals to RPG players.

2. Many, many, many YouTubers play on Mineplex, which attracts players that watch those YouTube videos. If you've noticed, right now WynnCraft doesn't have many YouTubers recording the Gavel Update besides small ones such as Sebbelonien, Hasax, and HippoCrafting.

3. Jumla keeps spilling his coffee.

4. If you notice one thing in common with every single popular server, they have a voting system that gives rewards. Voting helps their server get to the top page of some "Best Server" list, attracting even more players. WynnCraft does have a voting option, but it gives no rewards and very few people even know it exists. The ones who know it exists won't bother spending the time and effort to vote for something that gives no bonus or reward.

5. Mature content. WynnCraft caters more to players 13+, as there are references to drug usage, as well as some mild cursing by NPCs. It does not offer too much in terms of replayability, as after the charm of questing fades, it's just back to grind, grind, grind again. Relating to YouTube, many youtubers don't want to bore their players with content of themselves repeatly grinding aimlessly to generate an extra level, which discourages YouTube series, and is why most YouTubers who actually played quit by the time Wynn got to a level of hard-to-levelup; around levels 30-50.

 

nope ..mineplex is awesome...wynncraft too but the community there is larger and btw all kids of minecraft r in mineplex u r right...but that doesnt make it bad ...wynncraft is UNIQUE ...Awesome rpg...but mineplex and hypixel just copying each other ;-;

About the poll: could you try actually reading before calling it stupid. I said plugins and buildings wise, like how much work was put into the plugins and how good the builds are

 

u live in US ...have a good internet connection..play wynncraft most of the time...good ping ...and THAT will make me play wynncraft only

It all depends on the type of player. Mineplex is one of those servers that supports all kinds of players, and caters more towards people who want a fast experience with instant gratification. Typically, most of minecraft's players will fall under this category, and mineplex uses this to it's advantage. Mingames suit minecraft well, and mineplex is popular because it is one of the servers that does this best.

Wynncraft, on the other hand, is more of a "You get what you put into it" kind of server. You have to play for a while to fully understand and appreciate the mechanics. (Not to say that Mineplex doesn't require time to get better, Wynn just focuses more on that aspect.) It's geared towards the more mature side of minecraft's playerbase, which already puts it at a disadvantage when it comes to player count. Despite this, Wynncraft has done amazing at this, and has even introduced many "Instant Gratification" players to a new way to "wynn."

It really depends on which you prefer. I like wynn more, but that doesn't mean I haven't put my fair share of playtime into Super Smash Mobs either.

 

My internet, is okay... I get lots of lag on Wynn and that's why I dont play, I can't cross the great bridge without getting slaughtered
