Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I go towards the crater, which is near the cave with the magic well.

 

She holds two dark orbs in her hands, tome levitating in front of her. Light blue pulses are emanating from it.
"You've got quite the hiding spot here." She says quietly.

 

I show her into the cave. "This is the well. Should I show you something that I can do now?"

 

"I'm watching." Her armor and blade dispels.

 

OOC: Ik, but that was just my character reflecting upon your character's anger in the past.

OOC: I'm guessing the cloud went.
I go towards the crystal again and I have a look around for Nyre.

 

Once you get close, the arrow explodes. So does the crystal; Ihra's bleeding badly as she falls limp on the ground.

 

"Hmm... Nyre is full of surprises. Well, I guess I have to find a healer."
I teleport back to Nyme (not Nyre, I mean the town in the forest in the Darklands). I start searching for a healer, since the people of Nyme are very good with magic.

 

Upon arrival, most who see you bow to you or make some other gesture of respect.
"Eras, we've caught wind of the foreigners. Is there an emergency?"

 

"Yes, I need to take a healer straight to one of them, who is badly injured."

 

"This is something that... I've been working on." I wave my hand, and a wall of the cave turns to dust. Beyond it, is a much larger cavern, filled with different tubes and other mechanical components. Giant cogwheels, timers, springs and so on. I walk over to the very center of the cavern, where there is a table. On top of it, there is a bottle with a shimmering liquid in it. "This is a vial, into which I have managed to compress a huge amount of raw magic from the well. This may very well have the power to grant magic abilities to a normal person; For a time, at least."

 

"Are these not the ones who slaughtered people in Brisingr? Why would you help them?"

"I respect your progress. If that much magic is feared, I have something to scale against. Thank you for this, human."
She inspects everything through quick glances and is silent aside from three sentences.

 

"No, these are different. There are two different factions. The other faction are responsible for wounding the one I need to heal."

 

"If this is as urgent as you make it seem, I can go; I'd like to hope I'm sufficiently able at my occupation. I have questions, we all do, but I suppose they can wait."

 

"Thank you. And one more thing. I think that if the magic well was to be destroyed, or disabled in any way, the world might just... Collapse. My research has shown evidence of a few other wells located in different remote locations, which fuel the magic field that keeps the world going."
I turn away from the table, and start walking towards another doorway.

 

"As if this world is a machine of sorts...? I don't think I follow."
She keeps some distance between you two as she follows you.

 

"In that case, we should go to them."
I teleport myself and the healer back to Ihra.

 

They look at her, her staff, and then her wound.
"Wings and back look like the big problem. This one's smaller than what was described to me."
They begin weaving a spell.

While she's laying unconscious, you can get a decent look at her staff if you so choose.

 

While walking through a lengthy passageway, I explain the following: "You see, it isn't exactly like a machine. But, all of the magic goings on are requiring a lot of energy... Contraptions made by the Emeraldonians, the rifts themselves, and even dragons and draconians; they all require amazing amounts of magic. Also, I would like to point out, that this world is only one of many, so it would require tremendous amounts of raw sorcery to keep it in existence. At least that is what I believe." We pass by a door on our right, then I stop. "We have arrived. Beyond, is the room where I keep all of my books, notes and other things... It might be slightly bigger than you expected."

 

"I must confirm one thing and question another; while your world is certainly one of many, how do you know about draconians? I can recall no memories of my ancestors interacting with this world."

 

"That is a good question. You see, as there are many world's, there must be a space in between them. Not the void-But a space filled with memories, books, writings-from many worlds. Scattered in the theoretically infinite space, there is a small chance of at least one of them ending up in a different world; that's where the rifts come in." I walk over to one of many shelves, and scan through it until I find what I was looking for. "Here, this is one of them. A scroll explaining the existence of draconians. Although a portion of it has been burned, it is still decipherable."
