    This isn't an easter egg or anything, but there's some diamond structure on top of this volcano that's not there in-game.

    Is this some leftover from the build server? Can anyone solve this (not really)mystery?

    *Builder equips brush that makes diamond spheres*

    *Derps around Gavel*

    *Accidentally right-clicks with the item with the brush*

    *Doesn't bother to clean it up cuz too lazy*

    It is not diamond, it is sponge. Sponge is rainbow in the wynnpack, it changes colors.

    i have seen sponge before, there is some in the cave where you start the quest where you become smaller

    Look at the diamond texture and the sponge textures. You can clearly see the difference. Sponge changes colors, diamond doesn't.
    You could also know if that was sponge using F3 and looking at the right side. It should say minecraft:sponge if you were looking at sponge.

    How would he know whether it was a sponge or diamond blocks that were appearing on the map?

    I looked closely. Diamonds get darker in the corners, those blocks did not. And spoges have a slightly different texture to them, and i recognize it.

    Diamond blocks do not get darker in the corners. Nor do sponges.

    The blue sponge and diamond block textures are practically the same.
