    Hey wynncrafters,

I recently came back to wynncraft when i heard about the new big update.
I found out i couldn`t wear any of my armor since you need the skillpoints to wear the normal armor.
Me and my friend wanted to start all over again so i picked up archer and then we come to the question: what skillpoint do you need for archer?

    Hello c:
I heard that air/thunder is a good build for archer (the corresponding skill points are dexterity, which allows you to do double damage, and agility, which allows you to dodge mobs, these skill points also increase your air and thunder damage), but you might also want to place some points in intelligence because to cast spells you'll spend mana, and intelligence will help you regenerate your mana faster, also intelligence will increase your water damage.
At the beginning the skill points aren't so important, but when you become a high level player the correct build can be the difference between dying and soloing a boss ;)
There are lots of builds now that are possible for each class, so you'll simply have to play and see which style you prefer (if you prefer thunder/air, or fire/earth, or something else, really the sky is the limit).

(There is the quest tower of amnesia, which gives you access to a skill point reset scroll merchant, so in case you want to change your skill points you can always do it as many times as you feel like it, but the scroll costs 1 liquid emerald, so think wisely about where you want those skill points to go to.)

If you don't know what each skill does, I can also explain, or you might want to check the wynncraft wiki about it
(although it's not updated yet to the new release, so it doesn't explain the elemental part of the skill points).

    Thanks for all the info!
But which spell does thunder/air dmg or is it the kind of weapon you use?
But if i put a lot in these skill points then i cant wear all the armor i find right?

The spells are all specific to each class, if you're an archer you'll have the following spells: Arrow Storm, Escape, Bomb and Arrow Shield. The arrow bomb spell you have since you're starting at level 1, the other spells are unlocked at certain levels (for example, the escape spell is unlocked when you reach level 11. As for the elemental damage of each spell, you can see in the wiki in more detail what each spell does (I didn't write it here or else this post would be even longer...): https://wiki.wynncraft.com/index.php?title=Archer

These are thousands of weapons in game currently (a lot more were added with the new gavel update), and these weapons all have different neutral and elemental damage (for example, a mob might drop a bow with fire and air damage, or with neutral damage, or water and thunder, etc.) If for example you place more skill points in air and thunder, then getting an air and thunder bow will increase that elemental damage.

So if you use the arrow storm spell for example (which does fire and thunder damage), with an air and thunder skill point build and an air and thunder bow you'll deal a lot of thunder damage, and also some fire damage from the spell and some air damage from your bow and skill points.
But since the spell doesn't have air damage, which your bow and skill points have, it'll be less damage. Also since your bow and skill points don't have the fire damage from the spell these two will deal less fire damage (or maybe no fire damage at all, I'm not sure) when compared with the thunder damage. (This was only an example, there are other archer spells which do air damage and there are bows with fire and other elemental damage, so you're not limited at all). I hope I didn't confuse you... It was confusing for me just to write this...

There are also a lot of armors in game, so the correct strategy is to create a skill point build that you like and then find armor that compliments it (nice armor, with the requirements that allow you to wear it or even without requirements at all :D). Obviously most armor you find will not be wearable, but that just means that armor was not appropriate for your build (there are so many possible skill point builds that the armor which isn't appropriate for you will be appropriate for someone else and vice versa).
If you really want to wear that armor, then spreading out your skill points is ok at the beginning, but when you are a high level archer you'll need your skills to be stronger, and that is only possible when you distribute your points in 2 or 3 skills (for example: if I have 100 skill points and I redistribute them all evenly then I'll only have 20 skill points in each skill, but since I don't even need some skills, because they are similar - strength is an offensive skill just like dexterity, and defense is a defensive move just like agility - so there is no point in putting points in similar abilities, while if I only place my skill points in two abilities then I can have 50 skill points in each) so in the long you'll be making a visit to that reset scroll merchant if you spread your points evenly...)

One last thing: With each skill point you add to a stat the less effective that skill point will be (for example, if you have no points in agility, when you add a single point it will turn your agility into 1%, but if you already have 70 skill points in agility, then that extra skill point will turn your agility into 70.5% rather then 71%). That doesn't mean you should stop placing skill points into that ability, it only means you have to choose wisely when it comes to skill point placement.

    Sorry for the long post...
