Riddle :d

Hello guys! I am going to write a riddle, and see f you can solve it, WITHOUT CHEATING. If I feel that you answered this honestly and without cheating, I'll give you an LE. Also, if you already know this riddle, don't comment. THANKS!

Recently, you got a job at a laboratory, which is on a cliff. On entering the building, you accidentally flick a red lever, and a bunch of mutated zombies come out. You run out of the lab with 3 others.

The three others you brought with you are the Lab Assitant, the Janitor, and a Scientist. To escape, you must get to the other side of the mountain, on an old bridge. When you get there, you have to cut the bridge and escape. The professed calculated that it will be 17 minutes until the zombie arrives.

That means you have 17 minutes to get across the bridge. You can run across the bridge in 1 minute. The lab assistant can run across the bridge in 2 minutes. The janitor can run across the bridge in 5 minutes, and the professor can run across in 10 minutes. To make matters worse, it is so dark that you need a lamp to see. Also, only two people can cross the bridge at a time. Finally, their are no tricks. You can't friend the zombies, swing across the bridge, carry people, etc.

Summary:
Zombies are chasing you, and you need to get across in 17 minutes.
You: You can run across the bridge in 1 minute
Lab Assistant: 2 minutes
Janitor: 5 minutes
Professor: 10 minutes
Who ever solves this riddle correctly gets 1 LE, if they don't cheat

 

How fast do the zombies cross the bridge?

 

Doesn't really matter, but they get to you in 17 mins

 

The bridge is broken, so take some wood from it and smack the zombies with it.

So did ya bring along a scientist or a professor?

Also, why not just have the Janitor and Scientist/Professor go first, then "You" and the Lab Assistant?
(I remember this from somewhere, and I believe you forgot to specify that there's only one lamp.)

 

You fall off a cliff when you run out of the lab, because the lab is on a cliff.

2) There is only one lamp, and you it to cross. If the Janitor and Scientist go, it'll be two late for you and the lab assistant

I worded it badly, so here's a BETTER summary.

You and 3 others are being chased by zombies. To escape, you must get to the other side of the mountain using the bridge.
With you are the lab assistant, scientist, and janitor. The Lab assistant can run across the bridge in 2 minutes, you can run across in 1 minute, the janitor can run across in 5 minutes, and the scientist takes 10 minutes to cross. You must find a way for all of you guys to get across the mountain in 17 minutes. If you don't, the zombies will kill you.
To make matters worse, it is very dark. Luckily, you brought a lamp with you... But only one. You need it to go across, or else you might fall off.
Too make matters even more worse, only two people can walk across the bridge at once, or else the bridge will break.
Finally, there are no tricks. You can't swing across, you can't swim across, you can't friend the zombies, etc

Take the Scientist with you (10), go back (11), take the Janitor (16), go back (17) take the Lab Assistant with you (19) and rely on good ol' Measurement Uncertainty.

I'd recommend you put that information in the original post; it's a lot easier to understand.

 

You and the lab assistant run across first(2). In that time, you manage to run back(still 2). You then bring the janitor(7). You make it there first and walk back.(still 7). Then you bring the scientist and walk back together, hoping that they didn't forget the cake.(17)

There is 1 lamp, so I may be completely wrong.

 

Rock paper scissors for who gets to live. You take one other person, leave the others to die.
